S is better than Q (Q is the newer 'affordable' series)
Higher number = better
Plus = Auto-empty dock
Ultra = Ultra auto-empty dock (more features)

Wow this is the lowest I've seen the S7 MaxV Ultra, even tho it's refurbished, it's certified and sold by the actual company itself, and has a 2yr warranty. It's finally time to take the plunge. Thanks OP!

For those who are looking incredibly confused about the model delineations…
S = High End
Q = Affordable
# = Generation
Plus = Includes Basic Empty Dock
Ultra = Includes High End Dock (seems to be the triple dock or advanced dock with empty + maintain)
Max/MaxV/Max+ = Think of them like "model facelifts" of each model. Sometimes it's additional features, sometimes it's a more powerful motor.
Pro = Again, seems to be the "facelift" of each model with newer features.
+ = Again, different line of features on each model. It's pretty inconsistent.

Not exactly. The S models are older. The Q models are newer. They have way too many models out there now. I agree with your choice of the Q5. Their refurbs are good quality and $176 is the best price ever.


If you want mopping, vibrating, auto-emptying, auto refilling, and all the stuff that makes these robots more expensive, noisy, and fragile, then Roborock is still a good brand. But the Q5 is the one I recommend.

Yeah I got the S7MVU last month refurbished for $855 + tax and it return window expires exactly today lol. Oof! Not that I'm surprised, but my unit basically felt brand new. Other than pissing me off with how it keeps destroying some weaker rugs, you won't regret at this price!

That's a completely different vacuum despite similarly ridiculous name though. The MaxV is objectively better in every way minus the dock (the 7 Max Ultra dock is better designed maintenance-wise and has built-in heating).

Interesting to hear more on this. Got the Deebot N8+ and it's been ok. Got stuck a couple times for no reason and on 2nd use left the base, circled around it, and went back saying cleaning complete 😂
