Exactly. But unlike similar products from dubious "brands" like Grobrty or Ravvitpoo, the Amazon Basics ones have received at least some level of quality control, certification, and are backed by a brand that will still exist if you need to make a warranty claim.

Basically, by buying Amazon Basics, you're paying a little bit extra to have cheap Chinese knock-offs that have been curated, vetted, and backed by an American brand.

I've been very happy with all my Amazon Basics purchases - cheaper than the name brand stuff, but more reliable than the no-name knock-offs.

I just got one from the last time this was posted and am currently in the process of exchanging it because the lower port was faulty and would only charge when pushed in manually at a certain angle. Granted, this is actually the first of dozens of Amazonbasics products I've ever had an issue with, and $10 is a good price for a charger like this if it functions, just throwing my anecdotal experience out there.

I bought this two-pack of 40W chargers recently: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDVWN6NP.

$17 now for the two-pack, and I'm seeing a coupon for 10% off.

Each charger has two USB-C PD ports and two USB 3.1A ports. Works well, worth considering as an alternative to this deal if you need two.

Honestly, yeah. That's part of the reason I don't mind plugging an Amazon Basics charger in my house, and using them on my expensive electronics. There's some recourse if shit goes wrong. And there's incentive for Amazon to sell stuff that doesn't burn customers' houses down.

Same with brands like Anker and Eufy. Chinese companies, but the have offices and holdings in the US (meaning you can sue them), and they have established brand images to protect.

The "brands" you find online that are seemingly random strings of letters selling cheaper knock-offs drop shipped from China? Nope. Not worth the risk just to save a couple bucks.

I hope you're also using a surge protector or upc, at least 1000 joules protection, with Amazon basic chargers. These usb chargers like most electronic chargers do not handle power surges and will not protect your expensive devices from damage no matter how BIG the adapter looks.

Only 18w per port is a deal breaker. All modern equipment can charge with more watts than that, especially on usbC

Yeah, those Amazon Basics fires are old history now.

Just got back from a ten day trip with my significant other. Four of those days involved hiking where we wouldn't have access to an electrical plug till the end of the day (yes we did carry a rechargeable battery just in case). It was convenient being able to charge two phones at the same time and not having to bring along 2 small brick chargers. Yes, it's not the fastest charger we have, but knew we would be charging when we were asleep.

P.S. Just checked my records and I paid $15.66 for 2 last Aug. ($7.83 ea)
