They're the exact same things made by Samyang. I bought it 4 months ago from BH. It works well but not perfect. The tube will slide down if putting downward vertically. It's ok for personal using because its price. Don't recommend for professionals especially wedding photographers. It's very annoying while switching cameras.

Very tempted to pick this up to take pics of my fast moving kid indoors. To have 2.8 at the zoom end at 150mm is pretty nice to get that speed and not crank up ISO.

just worried about some of the build quality or lens creep reports out there. But at $900 is it worth taking the plunge? Ny current zoom is sonys 24-240 but that is obviously not fast at all with f/3.5 at the wide end and getting only f/6.3 as fastest option at zoom end. Thinking of maybe selling that to pick this one up instead....

Thoughts?

Build quality is ok but you might have issues with the AF Tracking speed is not as fast as tamron to catch your fast moving kids

Performance thats very close to Tamron's 35-150mm f2.0-2.8 lens but far more affordable. This lens was released only a couple of months ago and lowest price its been by far.

Unsure whether the OEM warranty is included at this price point. It's still lower than what they go for on the used market.

Tempting... It's a solid deal, but just a little worried about buying a $900 off Woot! If there's an issue and I have to return it. Purchased tons of cheap items, but a lens?

I keep reading that the lens has terrible creep. But I watched reviews videos on YouTube and it seemed like it was better overall than the tamron similar lens

Never heard of this lens tbh and kind of surprised to see Rokinon/Samyang products pushing into the premium price brackets. They were occupying the $300 range for years and it was always simple prime lenses.

This lens has an insane specs/design, which makes this even more unexpected.

Is Rokinon and Samyang the same thing? I don't see anything mentioned about Rokinon but all compassion of Samyang… so confused.

It's a copy of the superb Tamron 35-150. It's tempting at this price for hobbyists, but if you're a professional you should go with the Tamron.

How does this compare to the Gmaster? Would it be within 70-80% of the G Master quality overall?

TIA

I have Rokinon Prime lenses, they're great quality but this is a huge range, 35-150mm would be my carry lens tbh

The actual reviews on YouTube seem overwhelmingly positive, but there does seem to be some bad examples floating around like defective autofocus or other issues. If you get a good example, I think you should be golden. If it's questionable, send it back to woot. I'm not sure if I knew how to test the lens properly though as an amateur.

I was so tempted when I found the deal yesterday to sell my Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 for $500 and buy this as a $400 upgrade especially since I'm only rocking 1 lens total with my A7R3. But... not sure if I "need" to upgrade here. Decisions decisions!
