Got one for the kids and they've done so many projects with it. Really good for kids / ppl who have ideas but want to learn how to make it come to fruition
It has about 20 starter project tutorials like:
* Create a temperature sensor / monitor
* Program starter robot components with directional movements (joystick)
* Create a sensor alarm (think enter /exit room)
* Control lights on the board with a toggle
* Program a fan
It's beginner so no soldering needed and walks you through coding.
Has a cd but the PDFs are used most in our house (printed out or on tablet).

Soldering gun recommendations, or do I not need one???

Shouldn't need one for playing with this. That's what bread boards (the white rectangle with the holes) are for. You just poke the leads into the holes to make temporary circuits that can be assembled/disassembled easily.
Edit: For things that can't stick directly into the breadboard you use the included jumper leads (the bundle of wires).
As someone else asked, what have you done with it?
