It's due to the filter, not the actual vacuum itself. Your best bet is a shop vac, with proper filter, for grill ash.

when you click on the url it takes you to an amazon page that shows 2 models I own the larger dewalt vacuum and it can blow when you reverse the inlets I do not however own the smaller vacuum so I cannot say about that one. The larger one however is an excellent portable vacuum

Anyone know if it can blow air as well?

Edit: I see one review stating it can not. I would have liked to be able to use it in my office for both vacuuming and dusting.

This is a great price for this. I bought it at 119 after months of holding out, and absolutely love it. My fiancé uses it frequently as well. It's super versatile and complements our Dyson upright vac perfectly.

If you're on the fence on this one, pull the trigger!

Great deal. Aside from cleaning small jobs/workshop stuff, I use this as a beefy dust buster around the house. Collection bin is proportional to its form factor (if you want a big bin use a big vac). Works well with human/pet hair, makes a nice tumbleweed inside lol. A 5-6 AH battery gives nice weight balance.

I got this to clean my grill out, but it instantly clogs for that purpose .. so just a heads for anyone planing to clean a lot of dust/ash

It's probably great otherwise

Concur. I have one and love it, but it fills too quick. This is my favorite vac of the Dewalt cordless vacs (I own all 3). This is the only one that sucks good.
