If you are going to use the 20 lb tank I highly recommend you use one of the Mr. Heater fuel filters with any generic hose OR buy the hose F273704. Otherwise oil will leach into the fuel stream and more than likely clog and ruin your heater. Numerous videos and articles about this issue out there.

Maybe a decent deal, but I'll never order from Northern Tools again. They screwed over a bunch of Slickdealers including me last year. They advertised a free Milwaukee inflator with battery purchase. Then shipped just the batteries with no inflator (and no notification of order change). When confronted,v they claimed the free inflator was a mistake, despite the fact it was still advertised as an active promotion on their site. They wouldn't even pay return shipping for the batteries.

It's the only time in 25 years of buying stuff online I've had to dispute a charge with my credit card.

Sure, any company can make a mistake, but the handled it in the worst way and were downright hostile towards their customers.

Caveat emptor.

I have this and use it in my unheated garage during winter in the northeast. It does a great job of getting it to a comfortable level. I'll usually put it on for like 30 minutes before going in.

edit: something worth noting is that it doesn't come with a power cord, or at least mine didn't when I got it. it works on D batteries but you can get a separate power cord to run it indefinitely.

Have you tried to use a 20lb tank on it, as well as the small ones? I've heard numerous reports it's restricted to small bottles, with something about the pilot restricting its use.

I'll start by saying I have zero experience with this item, but the description implies that it will work with a 20lb tank with the addition of some hoses/adapters (part numbers listed)

It doesn't work with a 20lb tank out of the box. The small tanks go into these fold out doors on each side. If you want to use a 20lb tank you need an additional hose/fitting.

I use the hose adapter to run mine off a 20 lb tank for ice fishing. Works good

You have a different model. That one has a fan, these DONT! I have the one with a fan and it's green. The red ones don't have them!

I have a red model with a fan. It's not color-related.

Yes. It is due to the hoses that have to be used. The oil/contaminates from the hose leach into the heater and slowly destroy it.

Normal price is $180, $100 seems a lot better.

Will price compare later.
