The Costco reviews say that this cooks rice much slower than a traditional pressure cooker style rice cooker. Does anyone have experience with this rice cooker?

Slower than a pressure cooker? Why do you need pressure to cook rice?

Is it faster? Normal rice cookers are 20 mins without pressure.

I have the 500 dollar Zojirushi pressure induction rice cooker. Takes 55 mins to cook rice. Depends on the type of rice but they're all around that time. Makes the best rice any one has ever had. I've been making rice for a long long time and trying different methods. I make great rice in a stove top pot or instapot pressure cooker. But when I got the pressure rice cooker it brought it up to a new level. I confidently can say it's better than any rice I or anyone else who has tried it has had. It doesn't matter that it takes 20-30 mins longer than other cooking methods. It's set it and forget it so easy to use. You can set the timer in the morning and it will be ready when you walk in the door from work. It also has a quick cook option that brings it down to ~40 mins but I've never used it.

Wash your rice until the water stops being cloudy. Soak it for 30 mins or more. Add salt. A tiny bit of olive oil or butter. These 4 steps will up your rice game and make great rice using any cooking method.

my expensive elephant zoji cooker requires 35 min to cook. thats with fuzzy logic. pressure cooker cooks faster and makes better rice.

yes. i know. cheaper generic rice cookers out there can do under 15 min. for some reasons with the new tech of fuzzy logic. it requires longer time to cook

I paid $10 for my rice cooker. You literally spent 50x the amount I did, which is nuts.

Review video shows it has a standard pop-up heating element, unlike real induction cookers where the internal is smooth.

The size of rice cooker matters.

If you only need to make 2-5 cups of rice, don't buy this.

Cooking time will be same, but it's better to use smaller rice cooker for smaller portion.
