Have both. The XM5 has better noise cancellation on planes. Considerable difference IMO. Bose are more comfortable and have better clarity. XM5 has better bass.

I bought them for $200 Black Friday 2022. I'd recommend them.
They sound great, the noise cancelling is very good, but not quite as good as my Sony XM4's. If you're putting away silverware or clank a glass, the Bose attempts to compensate and winds up sending a loud counter clank.
However, I cannot recommend any Sony's. The XM4 earbuds had the dead battery issue and my XM4 headphones have the random ear piercing squeal with ANC. Their quality control and reliability are not worth the risk.

I think I paid 200 for these at Costco last year? I'm no audiophile, but they're easily the best pair of headphones I have. Super recommend.

I bought them for $200 Black Friday 2022. I'd recommend them.

I would keep the refurb with the hard shell case. There is nothing wrong with the refurbished if you got them for less money and with a better case. I have 2 pairs of refurbished and 1 new from the July deal and besides the packaging I couldn't tell a difference. They all work great and the ear cushions will have to be replaced at some time in the future anyway no matter if rerfurb or new.

If you got refurbished for $160 I would keep them and not buy more expensive new ones with a less sturdy case.

But these are my 2 cents only.

I had bought it last year for work mostly Teams calls. I used it with Win10 OS. I had really hard time with this headphone. I had to disconnect and reconnect for every time for a new call. It used to cut the voice for every specific interval I.e 75 seconds. Same behavior with iPhone. I had done factory reset multiple times to resolve the issue but it did not help. I had to return it.

New ones just came out. Essentially, in order of price the QC45, the QC, and the QC Ultra. The 700 is prob somewhere between the 45 and the QC.
I bet the 45 will go down to $150 real soon. The QC is a replica of the 45.

Note that this the SE package that has a soft storage case instead of the semi-hard case of regular QC45. The QC45 was on sale last week during the Prime Day and at Dell. The latter has $50 AmEx offer for $100 purchase. I use multiple cards with that AmEx offer to get additional near 50% off from the $229 sale price (plus another item) making it around $120. I also got one last year around $180 at Dell with similar offer. So $180 for QC45 SE is a decent deal.

Totally agree, qc line is great. Had qc 35-2, now have 45 & going strong
