Yes it does. I have this and it is a really impressive set- very well detailed, looks just like Optimus, and you can actually transform it.
It was designed by a former Hasbro employee that worked on Transformers.

My son and I put this together about 6 months ago. It's an awesome set for any Lego/Transformer fan. And yes it does transform! It stands over 13.5 inches.

As others said, yes, it does transform, and it is pretty easy (by comparison to many badly designed Optimus toys). The robot form is much more impressive though

They should make a do not grieve edition!!! Color changes to black and white when it gets cold.

Soon I shall be one with the Matrix.
