Commenting to note that if anyone, like me, is looking for waterproof shoes, these do not appear to be. They have a separate AX4 gore-tex waterproof hiking shoe and it is not on sale.

Reviews for the shoes are horrible compared to a lot of other Adidas hiking shoes . Reviews state that these are smaller in size and larger in the toe box... and also many reviews state that they are uncomfortable for long hikes.

Found the regular ax4 hiking shoes when clicking the link, this is just for this wide size. Guess they made it easier for wide foot shoppers as wide size shoes are limited.

They are for wider feet. Which is harder to find for some people. Many trail shoes are very narrow. Especially in the toe box.

This was the first shoe I threw away after a couple of uses. Absolutely uncomfortable. Used for a couple of months for short errands to try to break. Finally tried a hike and it was just painful. And is fugly as well.

If you've tried the regular size, these shoes specifically are very narrow and tight. The wide size makes it feel like normal shoes.
