I'm sure it's selling pretty bad which is why they lowered the price. The performance per watt is terrible.

i5-14600K is $329 less 10%. Seems like a good deal.

Luxury minded Intel said "we need a chip that will appeal to the one-percenters!" so the team came back with a chip 1% faster than 13th gen.

If 14th is more expensive than 13th, buy 13th. The improvement is next to nothing.

Except the 14700, it got more E cores so it does have more performance. The rest is basically no change.

People should understand that, there is no way for anyone else to design a new architecture for every generation. The cost of produce the Intel current architecture needs years to be profitable. That is for sure before the next gen of architecture comes out which also need cycle of develop, testing and production.

I wanted to upgrade, but my understanding is that this will be the last chip under the LGA 1700 socket and an entirely new chip and socket will arrive next year. Unless they have some sort of mid blowing deal before then, I'm not likely to bite on anything. The minor update with these chips also do not make it anymore appetizing.

AMD seems to find a way. 14th gen is bringing back the years of the Skylake doldrums of 14nm++++++++++

AMD hasn't had one stagnant yearly update since Ryzen launched... Lol

Not that much different, amd ryzen 3000 to 7000 takes 3+ years, and the next future gen will most likely revision of 7000 series. They are the same just different marketing strategy.

Here is the most informative and accurate comparison of 13th gen and 14th gen Intel chips I've seen on Youtube:
