Have the smaller set (3/8 and 1/4) for years now. Granted I'm more of a weekend worrier but that 3/8 ratchet has been used and abused. Still working like it did when I got 'em.

This set used to routinely be on sale for 119 pre-pandemic. There's no time machine to go back but it's sometimes hard to pay today's prices on things when you know it's the same dang thing for way more $ now 😔

I'm really happy with all but the small one. It's locked up a couple of times.

That said, I got it for $99 and I'm considering buying another at this price. It is my favorite set.

I prefer 6 points, although 12 points is easier to fit on bolts and nuts in tie space and work fine 99% of the time but have the possibility to round off stubborn bolts and nuts. which create more work.

Home Depot also has this for the same price:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../300937332

This set is the same price but is a 247 piece:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../304217730

Between the two sets, which one is better?

I put a quick summary of the two sets
192 set (DWMT75049) contains:
3 Ratchet
3 Spark plug socket
3 Drive Adapter
64 Sockets (22 1/4, 22 3/8, 20 1/2)
62 Deep Sockets (20 1/4, 22 3/8 20 1/2)
9 Extensions
3 Universal Joint
8 Torx bit
9 Hex bit Socket
28 Hex Key

247 set (DWMT81535)
3 Ratchets
3 Spark plug Sockets
3 Drive Adapter
64 Sockets (22 1/4 22 3/8 20 1/2)
52 Deep Sockets (20 1/4 22 3/8 10 1/2)
5 Extension Bars
0 Universal Joint
8 Torx Bit Sockets
9 Hex Bit Sockets
28 Hex Keys
12 Combination Wrenches
15 Nut Bits
1 Bit driver
44 44 drive Bits

so Socket wise the 247 set has less sockets/extension bars than 192 set

So you are trading 4 Extension Bars (192 have 3 each size, 247 have 2 for 1/4 and 3/8 and 1 for 1/2) 3 Universal Joints (192 have 1 per each size while 247 have none) 10 less Deep Sockets (192 have 20 1/2 deep sockets while 247 have 10)

for 72 fillers (12 combination wrenches 15 nut bits 1-bit driver and 44 drive bits)

so i think the major consideration is do you need 17 more socket Ratchet stuff or 12 combination wrenches (60 Nut Bits, Bit Driver and drive bits are useless in my eyes because almost no one I know uses nut bits and everyone has some sort of bit drivers and bit sets at home so 247 is really just 187 in my eyes.)

Thanks for the info, I brought from HD instead since it got 90 return so i can camp out see if it have better sale in holidays.

What do you think is better this or CRAFTSMAN Mechanic Tool Set, 1/4 in, 3/8 in, and 1/2 in Drive, Includes Ratchets, Sockets, Hex Keys and Wrenches, 308 Pieces (CMMT45938)?

Thanks. Might be overpriced relative to pre-pandemic (but what isn't?) and might be a couple dollars cheaper at BF (but I could benefit from a new set now rather than wait another month) so I happily pulled the trigger! Smilie

I have this set, been using it for about 2 years. I mostly use the 1/2" and 3/8" ratchets, occasionally the 1/4". Working on cars, motorcycles, projects around the house. Thus far no complaints. I like the handle shape, they seem well made, working out well so far.
