Humidifier aficionado here: this is my current favorite. Having had Vornado and Dyson units, this does a great job of humidifying our bedroom, very easy to clean and has a relatively big water reservoir. Also, for me at least, it's silent and doesn't make dripping noises which all of the aforementioned do. Great price!

Typically the target is 50% for the overall level of humidity in your house. This ensures things like furniture, wood flooring, etc. remain stable and do not warp or cup. Most importantly bad things like mold don't grow above about 60% humidity. As it relates to personal health, winter time is typically the driest time of the year in many parts of the country and humidity below 50% can start to cause some individuals to experience dry nasal passages, coughing or even nose bleeds. Additionally, if you have an onset of bronchitus the additional humidity above 50% can help alleviate symptoms and create a productive cough to get phlegm out of the lungs. This is where either a room or whole house humidifier such as posted can help. All of the is very YMMV and if you are healthy and not having any issues you may not even need humidity. Hope this helps...

Bought this last year and it works great. I seen Costco also has a vornado evaporative humidifier on sale but haven't heard much about it. Debating buying another one for my living room.

Can't find any reviews for this particular model LV6S. Guessing it is similar to LV600S? Also are the filters easy to obtain and are there cheap generic ones you can buy?

I am in the same boat as to questions and feedback.

However, I did notice when I used COSTCO model number Google would many times bring back the LV600S model reviews.

I have two of these, and fill it with water from a zero pitcher. Last a long time between cleaning, and works very well.

Yes. And costco also provides extra accessories Included:
3 aroma pads (1 pre-installed)
3 absorption pads (1 pre-installed)
2 water filter sponges (1 pre-installed).

I have been using the Costco model from one year and the Warm mist mode improves humidity at faster rate and is very effective in winter months. Highly recommend.

Interesting, I never thought about buying a zero water filter to reduce contaminants. Do you still get hard water spots that need to be descaled?
