Humidifier aficionado here: this is my current favorite. Having had Vornado and Dyson units, this does a great job of humidifying our bedroom, very easy to clean and has a relatively big water reservoir. Also, for me at least, it's silent and doesn't make dripping noises which all of the aforementioned do. Great price!

Typically the target is 50% for the overall level of humidity in your house. This ensures things like furniture, wood flooring, etc. remain stable and do not warp or cup. Most importantly bad things like mold don't grow above about 60% humidity. As it relates to personal health, winter time is typically the driest time of the year in many parts of the country and humidity below 50% can start to cause some individuals to experience dry nasal passages, coughing or even nose bleeds. Additionally, if you have an onset of bronchitus the additional humidity above 50% can help alleviate symptoms and create a productive cough to get phlegm out of the lungs. This is where either a room or whole house humidifier such as posted can help. All of the is very YMMV and if you are healthy and not having any issues you may not even need humidity. Hope this helps...

I just contacted LEVOIT and they stated that this model is the same, or comparable, to these two models:

And

Another vote for this. Have four levoit humidifiers including this one. Don't really use the warm mist often so I can't say much for that, but that part has worked fine when I do use it. It puts out a lot of mist and is very easy to clean. I use filtered water to fill to make cleaning easier and it typically lasts 2-3 days (although that will vary drastically depending on the humidity where you live). Right now the humidity where I live is 20-30 and we try to keep our house at 50 and I get 2-3 days usage. The app is nice and tells you when it needs to be refilled and you can adjust all the settings on there. Sleep mode is also nice and can be programmed to turn off lights and keep it from running too loud.

It uses filter sponge and pads. Anyone know if these need to be changed, how often and how expensive?

What exactly is the benefit of running a humidifier?? I'm contemplating if I'd like to buy one for my bedroom

I thought the benefit of using filter humidifiers is that you don't need purified water.

If you are using purified water, may as well go with a filter free humidifier, no recurring costs other than filtered water.

I've got a similar Levoit. One thing I'd note is that you'll probably want to place it on the edge of a counter or table, rather than on the floor. The vapor coming out of it takes an arcing path, up out of the unit and then falling downward. If you have it sitting on the floor, the spot where the vapor hits it can get a bit damp.

5% surcharge applies on the pre-discount amount, $4 not $3.

The filter is going to filter the water coming out of the humidifier. But the water that sits in the tank won't be filtered. I've noticed filtered water in the tank makes cleaning much easier and less frequent. I'm sure that depends on the quality of your water in the first place, but for me it's worth it. I just have a cheap under sink filter I use to fill all of them.

I'm trying to find a humidifier that I can get at least 24 hours of not having to refill it 😝. How often are you filling this one? Smilie
Been looking for that answer too. Not sure if it's the insulation in our apartment or what, but our bedroom isn't really that big and the LV600S chews through 80% of a tank when kept on 50% humidity in the winter. I'd spend a fortune on distilled water if I used that, so we just used Brita water and change the mineral absorption pads out weekly or so.

Anyone has issues with cool/warm most units emitting a bunch of white particles everywhere? It caused my hvac filters to clog up pretty quickly. One year filters last like 1 month.

Going with the evaporative humidifier which is also $20 off at Costco. These other types all leave a residue or a wet spot under the humidifier when running all night.

Get evaporative, they are noisier but actually do their job properly and don't make your floor damp.

In my experience with a Vicks v3900 humidifier that has a tank as well, you don't need to do much for the tank but rinse it out. The water that I put in it is municipal supplied anyway, it has chlorine residual in it.

The bottom of the humidifier is what gets mold or stained, I need to clean that part at least weekly.
