I have found that overly bright lights can be a problem in close quarters. They kind of overwhelm your eyes and you get pupil restriction that gives your eyes a minute to recover if you're working in a moderate to very dark environment.

Do not recommend, this is the same exact design that came out like over a decade ago and they've made zero changes to - its super weak dewalt needs to step up its light game. I got this light for $14 at one of those bin stores a few months ago hoping to be able to use it at work as an electrician. I was so disappointed in its output for the size @ 18v I sold it the next day for $20. I have the 12v version of this and it's just as bright and half the size. It's kinda garbage too imo. So many better options now days for this price on Amazon.

360-400 would have been much better for wider than 5" area of visibility. Instead of getting more powerful LED with multiple settings of brightness like most other decent brands do they decided to do bare minimum but charge premium🙄.

The magnet is so weak it doesn't even hold up a slim 4AH battery. The slot for the battery also doesn't fit the slim batteries, as they protrude a few millimeters too far to get good contact with a magnetic surface. This was designed for very specific old small batteries.

This is a trash product in 2023. Don't waste money.

I don't know why you'd buy this over a headlamp which would provide far more light and not be a pita.

I want a flexvolt headlight 🤣
Seriously, I don't get the hate this light gets. Sure, it's not the brightest, but it can stay on for days. Great for camping and power outages. The design make it a pleasure to position the light where is needed. As far as the magnet, it only works with 2ah and smaller batteries. Don't need a big honking battery for this, unless you plan to leave it on all week.
