I wonder if the HB sunglasses are authentic or a knock off?

Made in China? Questionable.

I have Kenneth Cole's from here and they're good quality.

in present times, no sunglassesare worth more than 10 USD (polarized or non-polarised)...not unless frame is made of premium metals.

There is some truth to this with one exception. The cost of producing frames (metal, acetate, even titanium, it doesn't matter) and lenses no more than a few dollars per pair. The exception to the low production cost is in the lens coating. The chemistry for coatings that reduce reflections, are hard to scratch, oleophobic and all without affecting the light properties of the lens can get complex and there aren't a lot of companies that produce these coatings. There are only two coating companies, Essilor and Zeiss, that produce coatings that are objectively better than all of the others and they are not cheap.

I agree to that information...
but in my experience of using sunglasses ranging from 1 USD to 200 USD (polarised or not), starting from lenses made of glass to present day all polycarbonate ones...there is not much difference for day-to-day use by us commoners...
nowadays I buy cheapest ones...my current one is 10 USD polarised one from Kohls and am very happy by all those savings.
of-course all this is my opinion...and everyone has their own likings and choices.

I bought this exact pair on a previous slick deal. The sunglasses are nice. They look good. They don't feel cheap. Definitely better than a pair of cheapies at Wally World which are probably like 20 bucks anymore. If I recall they come with a cleaning cloth. My only complaints are 1) the case is cheap and super flimsy; and 2) it says Hugo or Boss on one of the upper corner of one of the lenses that is slightly noticeable while wearing. For this price I'll buy a backup pair for the inevitable moment when I lose or break my current one.

I got some HB glasses from them before. The quality is very good. My guess is these products are genuine but unlicensed. When HB places an order with the factory for 20,000 but they make 25,000. HB picks up the tooling and setup costs, the factory sells the extra production through 3rd party channels. Costs almost nothing for the factory to make extra. The frames I have are spring loaded to gently grip the head. Lens quality is clear. Came in a Hugo embossed glasses case with matching microfiber cloth.
