That said, I like the Touchpoint and Thinkpads generally. But the XPS is really nice too. I don't love the function keys but I could live with them since I'm not on them all day long.
The difference is really in the port selection. The XPS has 2 Type C ports and that's all. The Carbon has the same 2 Type C and HDMI and an Type A.
The XPS is about being on the cutting edge of design. The Carbon is about excellence is execution. That's my take.
Then again, Apple only tosses in 8gb of ram and a partial-speed 256gb SSD in their machines, but folks gobble them up as long as there's a fancy wallpaper, catch pop song, and single catchwords like COURAGEOUS or BRAVE.

I want a 13-14" max and high res touchscreen like the one you linked.
I'd jump on this deal if it had touch and better res. That's about the only thing I'm not fond of. I'd be willing to drop to an i5 with a better screen personally if I had to sacrifice something.
I too may just keep waiting for BF/cyber. My current laptop is a Surface and the battery is bulging like crazy. My prior laptop was an x1 I think gen2!!! That thing was my fav ever. My next should be X1 again, very soon!

Certainly not the on/off switch you want, but not horrible considering the alternative.
My xps has a resolution of 3200x1800 and it looks strange when I revert to 1080p.
