Amazon has $100 off both the 64gb and the 256gb iPad Air 5th gen models again. Rumors about new iPads continue to circle, but if they were going to announce new models in 2023 it seems they would have done so with the new Pencil they announced last week - most speculators are suggesting a refresh in 2024. Seems like a good deal if you want an M1 now.

I've owned the Air 5 since it's release and it's my first Air model (always used standard iPads before). Honestly, if you simply use your tablet as a media consumption device instead of a portable PC, and don't use the Apple Pencil, I would stick with the standard iPad. The Air has a 'slightly' nicer screen (though not as bright), but it's very expensive to fix if you break it- youre almost required to get Apple Care with it. The battery life is also worse, it's heavier, and it's thicker.
The only big advantage on the Air for me at the time was it uses USB-C. Now the standard iPads use USB-C too.
So...next time around I think I'm going to save several hundred dollars and go back to the plain old iPad. Just not enough benefit.

Idk. It's a deal, but it might not be the best one right now.
