I thought we could start a thread for any streaming deals that may come up, because with the writer's strike, i keep hearing this will drive up costs for streaming platforms.

With streaming prices climbing, do you think this year Hulu will do the $1.99 BF special?

Let's put any deals in one place for easy access and so there aren't 8 threads for streaming deals.

Yep. Streaming prices are also expected to increase, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with. I heard they want to increase subscribers big time, so who knows.

Thanks to folks in the thread I got Peacock with ads for $20, less $6 via Amex offer. I am set for the Olympics! Which, we found out during the last Olympics that when you buy the highest price Peacock plan you STILL get hit with ads during the Olympics! So, cheap is fine.

Does anyone know if a PBS type streaming service is cheap this week? My MIL wants something with English crime dramas. Any ideas?

If you have Amazon, there are several offers for 2 months at half price, plenty to binge the things you might want to see over the holiday period. Im thinking maybe the PBS masterpieces? Otherwise Id say try Acorn TV. or Britbox Just remember to set a reminder to cancel before the end of the 2 months if you dont want to pay full price. https://slickdeals.net/f/17091505-amazon-prime-video-channels-2-month-select-streaming-channel-subscriptions-from-0-75-month

Did the Hulu cancel and accept 6 mos. for $2.99 deal to preserve the Disney+ no ads add-on for $2.99. Worked! Thanks for the heads up I thought I would have to pay $7.99 for Hulu to keep the Disney+ no ads sub. Set my calendar to remind me in May to see if I can cancel and get it for another 6 mos. then. At least it saves me $30 for the next 6 mos.!!!!!

Yea... I don't *EVER* plan to pay a monthly streaming service fee and still have ads. Absolutely No Bueno IMO.

Acorn is $1.75 / mo for 2 months.
They said they will have the new season episodes of Midsomer Murders starting Dec 4th.

Hopefully Acorn will have a yearly deal. Mine ends in December.

so it seems like my Peacock auto payment was on 11/20.... so I'm assuming even if I cancel my 'subscription will run until 12/20..?? so I wouldn't be able to cancel tonight and try to re sign up with the $1.99 deal??
I've read 1 or 2 people may have had success but most not... stinks for existing customers, yea I know, like every other offer for most companies..

Mine renewed on the 23rd so I'm stuck another month.

Here's what I did. I created a new account with another email address and got the deal. $4 fa month or Hulu, starz and disney. Next year if they have the same deal I'll cancel this new account and sign up using my old account details.

I could do that - but right now it's not worth my time and effort of having to change logins on my devices.... if they don't want to give existing customers any deal, then I'll go elsewhere...I even tried chatting with them and notta ... may try Hulu or something else... I think they still offer the 'free' Peacock for existing customers....it was worth the $2/mo for what I watch, but not the $6 it is now..

I just got finished re-entering my account info. For Hulu you can log in using a browser. With Disney you have to use the remote control. If you want to watch all the content (tv-ma and below) you have to re-enter your password which is a pain in the butt.
