Received this as a gift from the parents when we moved into our new house. Used it in the garage in the 2-tier wide setup. Absolutely horrible. I don't know why I put up with it for years but it is gone now. Very rickety, wobbly, not stable. The particle board is cheaply made and warps and shifts. Pain to move even a few inches. I wouldn't recommend.

Ended up getting the Whalen 5-shlelf unit from Costco [costcobusinessdelivery.com] in-store and love them. Bought like 8 for the basement as well. For reference they were $94 last October in warehouse.

Bummer to read the reviews that the quality has gone down. We got one for our pantry about 10 years ago and it's great and wanted another one. But think I'll skip it since they are a pain to put together and wouldn't want to have to return it.

Its junk. I returned mine within a week ownership. Picked up Whalen racks from Costco a couple years back and never looked back. Wait for a Whalen sale at Costco and buy up.

I bought one and it seems okay for the price. I always found this to be incredibly easy to put together but that's just me

Dewalt Yellow 3-Tier Wire Steel Garage Storage Shelving Unit (50 in. W x 48 in. H x 18 in. D) [homedepot.com]

$119.98, might not available at all HDs at this price. Very stable and easy to assemble.

I don't have this, but just looking at the pictures, those look like some awfully skinny posts for that size of a rack. Doesn't look very "Muscular", as the brand suggests.

I have a similarly sized 5 shelf rack that I got 15+ years ago and I forgot what brand it is or where I got it, but the posts are way thicker and the entire assembly is rock solid. I would follow the advice to spend a little more to get something much sturdier.

*Does not support 4000 pounds. Someone should be liable for such false lies. You'd be lucky if you got 400lbs without the quarter inch boards collapsing.

Had one. It was ugly and the shelves collect dust. Eventually, it became moldy and I had to throw it out.

Not sure why so many people have had a bad experience with this product. Bought this exact same rack in Nov 2020 on sale for $63 + taxes. No complaints at all. Got a lot of stuff sitting on it in the garage. Holding up quite well. No warping, mold etc.

I bought one of these last year I think. It seems kinda flimsy but you get what you pay for. Once its assembled and you're just putting stuff on it to sit there.. Then it functions fine. The real issue is the particle board shelves. Particle board should've never been invented. Its useless. All my shelves were sagging just from moisture. Slightly good news is you could just go out and replace them with whatever you want. Actual wood, hardwood, solid metal etc.

I more recently bought (and just assembled the other day) a pretty much identical rack I found on here from Walmart except it uses some wire rack pieces instead of the particle board. While they don't necessarily feel super strong, I feel much better knowing they won't just give way over time from moisture in the air. Just be smart and don't over load the shelves with hundreds of pounds. I have about 2 big totes of stuff on each shelf, filled with home renovation supplies.

If you want something that feels really over built, then you're going to need to spend some more money.

Can you link to the Walmart one with the wired shelves. Cause I agree with the particle board mine sag and depending on the weight that is sitting on it it broke through from moisture.

I've just assembled three of the 24"deep racks I purchased with a previous slick deal.
I'm actually very happy with the result given the price.
I needed to level two of them with wood shims, but it could be due to my garage floor.
I already loaded them and overall they look very solid and stable to me and I have not yet bolted them to the studs.

Yeah, same! No complaints here either. It's so nice to have something sturdier than those 3-drawer sterilite containers try to withstand all our stuff lol

At least now we can label clear boxes and section off categories without fear of the plastic giving out. I love these!
