Is this a good price?? Hmmm..I just ordered the 2 TB version from Amazon for 199
There was another deal for a 4TB T7 Shield for $200 a couple weeks back that was a front page deal. But Crucial had a 4TB External SSD for $160 about a week ago. And Flash memory prices keep dropping. It's a historically low price for the T7 Shield, but we will likely see 4TB Drives fall in price a bit more. We've been seeing Internal 4TB SSD pricing hit the 160-170 range.
The Samsung T9 is out, speeds twice as fast and 5-year warranty instead of three with the T7. Much more expensive though for the T9, and I don't think it's worth it.

You are correct, the price on Samsung's website with a Student discount is $359.99+tax for a 4TB T9.

You'll get at least this price ($199) or most likely lower for the 4TB T7 Shield in a month (Black Friday). I'd return the 2TB and wait for a deal on the 2TB or 4TB.
The reason Amazon has a "coupon" is because Samsung dictates the price. I bought the T7 Shield directly from Samsung for $199 a couple weeks ago during the Amazon/Best Buy discounts and was able to get over $40 back by using a CB site, education discount (EPP), and Chase Freedom rewards (Paypal).
T7 Shield has a shorter warranty than the plain T9 because the T7 Shield is built rugged. It's a fantastic SSD, unexpectedly small, and the most that 95% of users currently need or could use. GL.

I meant to say I bought the 2 TB for 99 a few weeks ago. So I'm thinking about waiting for the 4 TB to drop instead... Hmmm what do you think?
It has been this price 3 times now in 2023. I would guess maybe a little lower for Black Friday, but not by much.
Note for mac users - due to the way Apple currently implements USB there will be no discernible increase in speed for you with the T9 - stick with the T7 line and save some money.
