Remember that some Amex members may have a $10 off $19.99 promo available. That unfortunately won't stack with this promo code, because the minimum spend to get the $10 off is $19.99.
No thanks. UPS has started some rural package diversion/delay program for my area. For example, if I have a package for Wednesdays it is delayed at the local hub and delivered on Thursday. If I have a package for Friday it is kept all weekend and delivered on Monday.

I've started shopping more at Walmart vs Amazon, because Walmart uses FedEx.
FWIW, to the extent that this works, it also addresses the Amex promo -- if you spend $30 in two transaction, you'd still get the $10 back from amex.

Yeah, sure: pay us for stuff we used to give you for free, and FedEx still gives you for free.

Fact: unionized employees earning $170k just to schlep boxes around, pass the cost along to you: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ups-...pensation/

1st transaction was with the code, and 2nd without (which then triggers Amex)?

not going to renew. too often they ignore my request to hold or choose a different address. they just go ahead and deliver it at home when i'm not there and i came back after 4 or 5 days away and my packages have been sitting there. too unreliable to trust.

and then my driver can't seem to get the numbers rights. i have a bunch of 0s and 1s and he gets confused and delivers elsewhere. once i was sitting waiting for a package and i got the "delivered!" notification and nothing at my door. i ran outside and waited and when i saw him driving by and flagged him down, i calmly asked him "did you just deliver my package to....?" and he went back and got it for me.

not paying extra for crappy service.

They pass the cost on to the shipper. The article says

The deal, which was reached on July 25, will increase full-time workers' compensation to $170,000 from roughly $145,000 over five years, according to UPS' calculations. It will also boost part-time workers' salaries to at least $25.75 per hour, and end mandatory overtime, Tomé told investors on Tuesday.

The 170K is total compensation with benefits its not all salary for the total.

By the end of the new contract, full-time UPS delivery drivers will make an average of $49 per hour, which works out to nearly $102,000 per year, assuming a 40-hour workweek, 52 weeks a year. Those employees are guaranteed an eight-hour workday, a UPS spokesperson told CBS MoneyWatch.

Drivers also receive $50,000 in benefits "that include health, welfare and pension contributions," the spokesperson said.

That places UPS drivers near the same pay grade as software developers, finance directors and physician assistants, who all earn average salaries in the $108,000 - $115,000 range, according to Indeed.

But agree with others for this "Deal" Fedex provides these vacation hold mail services etc for free.

Crazy, this exact same thing started in my area about 2 months ago! Also, they completely ignore all UPS pickup requests now - even if Amazon pushes through a return label. - Even if they are dropping off packages that day anyway. This has happened about 12 times so far.

I'm pretty much done with UPS too. I'd rather use Walmart+ as everything comes Fedex on time.

I'm in rural NW MO.

Same thing, it all trickles down to us. And your further text excerpts prove the case that UPS drivers are hilariously overpaid for zero-skill work. Sorry, the truth hurts.

Anyone know how many years you can extend your membership to? My current membership expires in early October 2024 after I extended it for a year using the Amex offer earlier this month. I wanted to extend for 2 more years to Oct 2026 by using this current offer two times and pay total $30 so that I can use the Amex Offer from my spouse's Amex account. However, after I extended by one year to October 2025, I no longer see the option to extend for another year. Is the membership capped at 2-yr max? Anyone know? Thanks
Before you used this deal your membership expiration date was October 2024?

Mine expires March 2024 but I don't see an option to renew. Where did you see your rental option that got you to October 2025?

I think if your renew date is too far out it won't let you. Mine was about to expire in November and I had already received emails telling me to renew. When I went into the site, there was a renew option available to me. I'd imagine if it was further out it might not have let me, just not sure how far out that date is.

UPS has the worst online system of any shipping company. And FedEx's is crap.

No service UPS offers should be paid. People spend money shipping with them. Everything else should be free and part of that payment.

Anyone who has ever opted cancel to avoid an automatic renewal charge... Does that kill the membership immediately or will it stay intact until the end of the paid term?

This provides great value for me - they upgrade my USPS packages to UPS delivery. Anything to avoid USPS deliveries around here - they get lost, mis-delivered, delayed, etc.

Am I the only one who's reading "2 months for $2"? Is that a typo, or is that an option as well?

I'd pay twice this amount if UPS would deliver packages at my house anywhere near the timeframe they provide. Usually they are 2+ hours later than what they estimate.

Yes, that's how I'm thinking it works...I was quoting that comment and asking them how they renewed because they stated their original expiration date was October 2024 (further out than mine) and they were able to use this deal to extend to October 2025.
