I got 3 x iPhone 14 pro from Verizon. Approx cost $1000/phone. Paid the tax upfront ($63/device). Then paid 3 months worth of phone plan ($45/line bc I also ported my actual number).
I then ported over my numbers through Costco promo. Using their keep and switch $800/line. They deceived me and told me I'd also qualify for the $250/line ported over. But then obviously they claimed you can't combine with the $800 promo. I still got the $75 Costco cash/line.
All in I paid $3812 to Verizon for the 3 phones (unlocked). Got back $2400 cash from T-Mobile (keep n switch). Another $250 for one phone's port in promo. Another $225 for Costco cash. Total paid approx $1000 for 3 iphone 14 pros. Plus 3 months of free wireless service. Plus prob approx 20k AA points from portal shopping. Id say way better than this deal ...

I stopped trusting tmobile "upgrades" when they started throttling HD video back in 2015(?). I think the whole point of these deals is to limit the amount of HD streaming as 4K videos become more prevalent, and to reduce the future burden on their network. Watching anything was unbearable for the couple weeks I changed plans, until switched back.

T-mobile needs to go back to their non-greedy base when Legere started first Uncarrier. They are as big of crooks right now as they other ones are.
i'm not that familiar with the Essentials plan but it seems like a reasonable way to get free phones every 2 years.
many plans have both tax exclusive and inclusive version
