4 lines $100 + tax x 24 months = ~ $3,000
+ 4 iphones for trade in = ~ 800
Total = $3,800

Price of 4 iPhones 15 = $830 x 4 = $3,320
Price of Service for 2 yeas = ~ 480 = 20 a month = $5 per line
Be sure to check but I think essentials plan does not include taxes and fees. It says 4--38% for taxes!!! That means up to about $45/month in Taxes. I couldn't see anything about eligible phones except the blurb for iPhone 11 trade is enough for a free iPhone 15 and the iPhone 7 is only valued at about $415 off, so probably other models are somewhere in between.

More details needed!
I can confirm that essentials price does not include taxes and fees. For 6 lines in NC taxes and fees is about 28$ total.

I'm on Simple Choice now paying $148 taxes included for 6 lines. No deals for us anymore, but no compelling offers to switch, at least yet.

With Essentials:
- Is it 50G per line or for all 4 lines?
- How much are the additional lines?

How does this compare to the Magenta Max plan?

I have all of the listed features and pay 140$ including taxes and fees with autopay for 3 lines.. I have free iPhones paid over 24months. No trade ins were necessary.

Also, free data and text while international roaming in 215 countries, calls at 0.25$

any good deal for only 2 new lines? trying to keep it under $70
Try the 55+ Essentials plan if you (or a spouse or partner or caretaker) are over 55. Going with an MVNO (virtual network, like Metro (Tmo), Mint (Tmo), Cricket (ATT), Boost, etc) you can autopay Metro (staying on Tmo) and BYOD for $35/mo. Cricket has the same deal for 2 lines. With the MVNO, you get a price that includes taxes, and you can pay with discounted gift cards when available (e.g. Target has sales occasionally). Except for Metro. Metro has no prepaid/gift cards. So autopay is all you can get, discount wise.

From deal:

If you cancel service before all 24 of your monthly bill credits are applied, you will forfeit any remaining bill credits that were supposed to be applied and will owe any remaining balance due on your iPhone 15 device(s).

Translation: You are also forced to get your trade-in credit as 24 monthly payments.

If you want to cut out early, you lose all of the trade-in credits they haven't paid you yet. I'm not sure how that's not just outright theft, but it is a terrible deal for consumers to allow this practice. They get full price for their phone, but you don't for yours if the contract ends early.

Another scam to lock you in or cheat you out of your trade-in value.

I wonder if existing essentials customers can get phone deals out of this? I'm guessing not.
You can sign up for Verizon for a week and then switch back to T-Mo?
That is what I am considering.

I got grand father plan that is 4 lines for 70 + 10/each for 4G data for 2 lines and no data for 2 lines = total plans $93.39 (with tax and service included) + 20 data total my month bill is about $112 now (4 lines with 2 line without date).

I was looking into the Verizon new iPhone 14 Plus offers but now I am interested in this.

But I prefer to have unlimited international data. Will this new basic plan come with that?

I am also on essentials plan now - 4 lines and pay only $105 - all in.

This deal is not applicable for existing essentials - unless I upgrade to more expensive Magenta plans.

Is the only option is to move to Verizon or ATT ? Can we get a similar deal for TCO - Plan plus Phones (4 lines) for 24 months that is similarly priced ?

Is anyone able to get this deal online? With trade in 4 iPhones 12 pro I was getting $180/month. Llive agent gave me this info on how trade-in works for this plan .

Example for trade in one of iphones 12 pro:

Trade in tier - $830
Fair Market Value - $235

Now the Fair market value will be given as one time bill credit and minus to $830 tier

$830-$235 = $595

The $595 will be the total less on the iPhone 15

iPhone 15 whole price is $829.99 - $590 = $234.99

Then the $234.99 will be divided in to 24 months and it is $9.80

Looks like another scam from T-mobile.

Buy iphone 14s.. really not much of a difference. Get Mint Mobile if you are not heavy data user.

T-mobile needs to go back to their non-greedy base when Legere started first Uncarrier. They are as big of crooks right now as they other ones are.
Or just use Visible if you want unlimited data and talk for a low price tax inclusive. It's a Verizon network so probably decent service and speeds. I think it's $25 a line all in tax inclusive.

It basically works like the 2 year contract all carriers did back in the day except instead of the $150-350 early termination fee they just make you pay full pop for the phones.

That's not how the trade-in credit works. It is NOT a one-time credit. It's a 24 monthly credit.

From the deal:
Upon sending in and approval of your trade-in device by T-Mobile, **** you will receive your trade-in value divided into 24 bill credits applied monthly to the monthly payments owed **** for your new iPhone 15 device(s) on your account.

In your example, you're not getting the $235 off the $830 price of the new phone. You're paying $830 for the new phone in 24 payments, so you have an additional monthly charge of $830/24 = $34.58 payment. Your trade in is worth $235, so you get 24 monthly credits of $9.80.

If you cancel or pay off 12 months early, you still owe half on the new phone - $415 due (aka ye olde early termination fee).

However, you ** don't ** get the half of your trade-in credit back. i.e. T-Mobile keeps the $117.50 they were crediting at $9.80 a month, while charging you the full payment for the new phone.

That's the rip-off part. You're buying a phone at full MSRP price, no matter what. Not a slick deal.

If you pay off 12-months early, you still need to keep those lines active to get the remaining 12 credits back. If you port out the lines or close, then you forfeit any remaining credits.

What's the rip off here? You sign a 24-month bill credit deal and you need to stay for 24 months to get it. Paying off early doesn't mean those credits are given right away. Of the three big carriers, T-Mo is the only one who lets you pay off early and upgrade and still continue to get credits on the phone. AT&T and VZ are even stricter and gives 36-month credits.

Is this TMO's way of trying to make good on the BS migration nonsense they were trying to pull on their most trusted and loyal customers?
