The semi-annual 50% off Criterion Collection sale has started at Barnes & Noble (online and in-store). It will reportedly end on December 4th.

If you buy from Amazon, in case B&N closes, amazon will not be doing these sales again and it will be the end of the criterion sales. Amazon very rarely initates sales like these, they usually just follow other competitors. It's better to buy from B&N.

If you check frequently, Amazon usually messes up a couple times per sale and offers the price match plus extra discounts. Got many good deals that way.

Yep, the Amazon Wolves of Wall Street licking their chops as they lowball and price match any remaining brick and mortars into easy prey to devour what's left. Just as the big boxes chewed up Main Street businesses in the 80s and 90s.

criterion.com has their own sales at least a couple of times a year, sometimes 50% off other times 35% off (if I remember correctly). I would rather give them my $$ directly anyway.
