Gamestop has their 4/$20 and 4/$40 sales on pre-owned games going again both online and in store. Games must be under $10 to qualify for the 4/$20 and under $20 to qualify for the 4/$40.

With some games (Callisto Protocol for PS5, for example) it would be better to buy them new as they're cheaper new than pre-owned. In this example it's $3.75 new versus $14.99 pre-owned.

4/$20(Sorted high to low, but not by console): https://www.gamestop.com/search/?...igh-to-low

I usually just go in store for pre-owned sales like this. If it's a major title then you have a good chance of a store having multiple copies and can pick out the best condition one.

Not to mention you avoid having to get to $79 to get free shipping or paying the $7.99 for shipping if the order is under $79.

Though if the game(s) you're ordering online are newer ones (and they usually aren't for sales like this) then you might have a shot at getting something in good condition.

A lot of really garbage prices for pre-owned games same or more expensive than the new version, even with best case scenario 50% off.

It's so annoying that you can't sort by items available in your store. It will tell you it's not there but can't just bring up things that are within 50 miles of me.

Their inventory system is beyond broken. They fixed it a week or two ago and then broke it again a couple days later. The best way to get it on these sales is in store.

Has it EVER worked? I've struggled with that inventory baloney every time I've tried to order from there, off and on for 15 years

Its a crapshoot. Tons of the games I ordered "new" came destroyed and or without case at all, codes used. I think I've received more sealed games from buying preowned than I have buying new during sales.

I tried to buy 2 sets of 4 games for free shipping. But the second set doesn't work. Ended up just buying "new" games to reach 80$.

Wow that is nuts!

What is the return policy like if they come in bad condition, or condition you are not happy with?

7 day return policy with receipt on preowned games. If you buy a game online I believe you can return it in person at a store.

As others have mentioned, browsing & ordering from GameStop.com or the GameStop app is awful. Their filters frequently don't work properly, forcing you to wade through dozens of games on the wrong system or at the wrong price to find what you want. It costs them thousands of dollars in sales annually, but they never fix it. You're better off going to a store and speaking directly with an employee to find what you want.

YMMV, on the phone they were running in circles trying to explain it. They said if I opened it, its no longer returnable and here I am telling them that it wasn't me that opened it. That's how it was received. Woman on the phone was trying to tell me if I open the case, that has no seal on it btw, that won't take it back. I ask how they would know if I opened the case of an already opened game. They tell me they'll go on the honor system. I nearly shit a brick when I heard this woman's braid dead answer.

My local gamestop gave me no issue in the return. If yours does, I would just head to another location or just process the return straight through online.

Problem with an online return is that I think they ding you with a return fee.
