I'm not a gamer, but this appears to be a decent deal on a laptop for "regular" people needing a good laptop at a decent price including the Costco Concierge two year warranty adding a year to the manufacturer.

I bought one would like to see the "experts" here either approve, tear it up or comment on the good and the bad.

There is very little about this unit out there. Nobody I can find has commented on the quality of the various components. The i5 chipset itself appears to be decent all things considered for regular people going on the web and running Windows Office and some specific programs like Photoshop or video editing etc. Those are my uses...

It appears to have been out since early 2023 as a specific unit. In my limited research, I'm finding similar units all running around $100 to $150 bucks more and not 17.3 inch screen. It does have a back lit keyboard and a few other things I like. I do know that sometimes companies will make a model for Costco and throw something "extra" in they might not put on units generally available or sent out. It might be the i5 chip vs an i3 in this one and backlit keyboard or not. I am aware of how some i5's might be better than an i7 or substantially worse etc. in how they compare and vs Ryzen chipsets.

So, Feel free to critique. I can take this back and will if the general consensus is that this is NOT necessarily a good deal or someone shows me something better for my non-gamer use at a decent price.

I thought I would save $15 shipping option by picking pick up in store but they also charge $15 for ordering online for store pick up. What a drag, I think I'll wait for a deal for another 17 because of this.

Why not just got to a store and buy one without an online order? You can call the store to check stock, just give them the item number.

Only one other $500 or less 17.3" laptop has been posted on Slickdeals in the last two months.

Thanks for the heads-up. This is the kind of laptop I'm going to get for my folks. 17-inch and 1080p are fine.

Think I'm gonna grab this 17 inch for $500 unless someone can provide me link for Alternative here, thanks. Ideally i'd like a 17 inch with high quality oled (Windows or chromebook) but I can't find any reasonably priced
You won't find them, because the manufacturers (all of them) don't put high quality OLED display on budget laptops.
