DON'T TRUST HOME DEPOT'S SPECS!
According to the manufacturer's spec (PDF linked on HD page) the 6ft aluminum is 13.5LB "shipping weight" and the fiberglass is 18LB "shipping weight," a difference of 4.5lbs.
Not a huge difference compared to ladders of old, but there is a difference. Also, the aluminum comes with a pail shelf that I find very useful.

The sale doesn't actually start until tomorrow but they prematurely put the sale signs up. When I went to the register it came up $39. They adjusted the price for me because signs were out 1 day early.
