One note, though - Amazon seems to have taken some delight in making it more complicated than ever to simply add a promo code. Anyone else notice this - or is it just me?

At least that's how it works on Chrome on my Android phone. Doesn't seem that complicated?

Seriously, though - how often are you having to remove the charger, anyway? I'd think even smokers are more likely to use a lighter than wait for the car lighter to heat up (yeah, I know it doesn't take long, but still...). I think most cars have multiple 12V sockets in various spots, too, so you could just use another one (with a longer high amperage cord) if you really need the primary socket.
Just use a pair of pliers on the rare occasions you actually need to get it out. Most people should have that among the basic set of tools everyone should be carrying in their car for emergencies, I'd think.
