Let's see...

1. App only lets you add one gift card at a time
2. You can end up with $0.75 cents left on a card and can't use that card with another gift card because you can only use max one at a time.
3. App only lets you add one gift card per day, and sometimes it doesn't even let you do that because of issues/bugs their system/app has.
4. Sometimes the app makes you answer a stupid CAPTCHA with images that are hard to decipher when trying to add a gift card, and even after doing it, you are still denied and can't add a gift card until the next day.
5. Cannot combine gift card values... i.e. move the value of one card to another so you can get around some of this nonsense.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head.

Chipotle gift cards are such a hassle to deal with that I don't buy them unless they're 20% off or more.

I see. Yes, initially I ran into the same - but now a days I use them at checkout. First I let them scan the remaining balance from app and then show/tell them new GC number. This works perfectly, no more $ left behind. The app is not great, agree to that.

They're really not in comparison to some like Moe's which doesn't even offer the option to pay with gift cards online. I'll give you it's annoying you can only use one at a time (for everyone else--if it doesn't cover the order, you have to pay balance with normal form of payment). Occasionally their system will be down and you'll have to pay in store which sucks but you can still go through the drive through if they have one.

It's def. Annoying but just wanted to mention you can combine gift cards in person but yes I run workhorse .75 left in a card and try to use it whenever I am out of gift cards and am using cash for the most part (I add the 75 cent one back to my account once the big ones are depleted and pay with credit card + gift card. Very annoying though.

lol, and it turned out that the app was broken all day long with most people unable to use the promotional code, while Chipotle kept insisting for hours on Twitter that if you go to the store they'll honor the promo for you, as hundreds of people kept replying to them on Twitter that the stores are not honoring it

Chipotle has the most annoying gift card system. Like others have said, I will bother when it's at 20% off to be worth my time and aggravation. Thanks for posting any way OP. A deal is a deal.

Is it me, or has Chipotle really been cheaping out on the meat they put on your burrito? Maybe just my local one?

If you order Chipotle on a gift card and the order has problems, the refund process is horrendous.

Say you order delivery and the order doesn't show up, or has major problems. Refund? Nope - You get coupons for free entrees that do not stack with any other offer, and can only be used one per order.

I will use Chipotle gift card, but only in person. I will keep my balance for any delivery orders, credit card is needed.

That seems to happen if you order online, if you order in store, they usually put more food.
