Factory reset the tv. The storage fills up with updates over time and slows it down. Reset deletes them and updates to the newest version.
This is why you buy a tv for the panel. And then something else to do all the other stuff. That thing is cheaper, does the other stuff better, and is easier and cheaper to upgrade when the time comes.
Anyone else find their Roku TVs getting slower and slower all the time? I still love the picture on my TCL Roku TV, but it's getting to laggy responding in most apps. TV's only a few years old, but seems so dumb to have to chuck a panel because the OS is crap.

$49 1-year Walmart+ deal mentioned here. In the past the free trials didn't give early access to the Black Friday deals. Paid members only.

This is worse than the invite-only Prime Day deal but also the best deal currently available for a 50" TV. Hoping something in either a better brand or better series comes along though.

Is there any way to tell if one if the HDMI's is the ARC? I see nothing on the box or the description on this, but own a smaller Onn Roku TV and it has an ARC. Never mind... Found the answer in the spec sheet, Attached.

I have a TCL 6 series from 2017 and still going strong. The Roku interface is a touch slower than it used to be, but I think that is expected over time.

If it's getting slow, just buy a new Roku or Google TV and select the HDMI input for it. I'm curious if you can set it to just auto-start on it when you power it on.

The main feature that got me to get the RokuTV was the "quick rewind" feature for broadcast TV where it jumps back 15 seconds. I don't think any plug-in Rokus support coax in, do they?

This seems to be just what my mom has been asking for. A decent 50ish inch TV under $200.

This is unfortunately kind of inevitable as they upgrade the software but it continues to run on the same hardware.

Yes, but there's an easy fix. I always planned to someday attach an external roku if my roku tv slowed down enough, and I knew it was time recently when my tcl roku tv started freezing up and shutting itself off. I connected a Roku Ultra box to it, then set the roku tv to automatically go to the hdmi port with the Ultra when I power on the tv. No more freezing, and the Ultra works faster than the built-in Roku.

Yep, you can set the tv to go to any hdmi port you want on startup. I have two roku tvs set to do just that, with a Roku Ultra as the connected device.

I got this 50" Onn tv [walmart.com]for my MIL a couple of yrs ago for $128. The picture isn't great. It's fine in closeups, but when you pull back for a wider sceen, like a football game or parade, it gets a little fuzzy and doesn't have a distinct picture. I asked her if she wanted to keep it anyway, and she did. This model of Onn may be better, I don't know, but if I were considering it, I would compare its specs to the one I bought and make sure it seemed a lot better.
