"Beginner guitars" as in "I have no confidence in you ever following through with your lessons so why bother buying you anything better"?

Back in the day, a stick shift car is cheaper than an automatic; does that make the stick shift a beginner car? Same with this gutiar. These super-cheap guitars are hard to play because many can't take a setup because of uneven frets or badly set neck. My first acoustic guitar was a Seagull S6; it's an ok beginner guitar. However, knowning what I know now, I'd pick a Taylor Academy 12 (so much better for just a little more $).

LOL. I've always thought "beginer guitar" as in: you don't know any better so here's a lemon for you to enjoy Smilie

I grabbed two of these last year, they're fine and play decently enough. They just use very cheap wood and I really don't think they'll last more than 4 or 5 years. I would call them "disposable guitars" rather than "beginner guitars"

Are these good guitars for a 11 year old kid?
