Yep. Bought this because I got tired of dealing with gas, transferring clothes, etc.

I was very surprised at how well it worked. But of course, temper your expectations.

You can't FULLY load it. And expect things to dry completely.

I do smaller loads, which is still quite a lot compared to my old GIANT Maytag top loading.

It's quiet, efficient and it's dry when it's all done. The app notifies when it's 5 minutes away from being done. And when it's actually done.

The clothes come out damp feeling but when you expose it to air, it just dries up completely. Weird. But true.

And the clothes are nice and soft. I think the best part is the 32oz of liquid detergent. I set it to auto. And I can do a decent amount of loads.

12-15. Depending on the clothes.

One thing…I did buy a dedicated small battery Ryobi vacuum It makes it easier to vacuum the lint after 1-2 laundry.

Remember. The cleaner the lint basket is. The dryer the clothes come out. So I've made it a habit to just do it every 1-2 loads.

Regular clothes don't produce much lint. It's the blankets, towels and bathroom floor rugs that do.

Just things to consider and think about. I've had it for about 6 months. I'm happy.

I considered putting a second one side by side to do more laundry. Since they do sell a Y site connector for the water intake. But…I'm happy with the one.

I ended up just putting full wall cabinets where the old dry er used to be.
This uses a heat pump to generate heat and remove moisture. So the drying effect is similar to the evaporator in your home AC system, in that it pulls moisture from the air and just sends it to the drain without needing to vent externally. Pretty neat setup, and the reviews I've seen online seem positive about the tech. It also uses MUCH less electricity than a standard dryer. Like 1/4 per load vs. traditional dryer with heating element.
If you are a first responder or government employee, GE offers a 20% discount through their website using ID.me. Their listed price is $2,199, but after the discount shows as $1,759.20 with free shipping (not including your local tax).

Unless you live in a tiny cell, I don't know why would anyone buy this.
And for that high price?
Multiple reasons:
- no venting - means no loss of house heat during the winter
- space saver
- no gas to be worried about
- clothes come out washed and dried without the need of transfer
- 120 volt only (regular outlet); easy conversion from gas to this
- no more cleaning of drier vent and getting lint outside (depends on model I guess, but my current gas drier sends a lot of lint to the outside)

It is not for everyone, but it is what we need and I ordered one. This is the future - transferring heat instead of generating it. Seems like a better unit than the LG versions (also slightly smaller capacity and doesn't dry as well).

Your statement is correct on the venting. A typical vented dryer sucks in and blows out 9k cubic feet of air to the outside of the house, thats roughly 1000 sq-ft of american home. New air now gets sucked INTO your house from outside through doors/windows as your house is not in a vacuum, pressure has to balance. You just blew out $$ in HVAC. Older heatpumps that are ventless suck in air and blow out hot air into the room, same concept, your HVAC has to make up for it in summers at least. This unit is sealed, doesnt suck in our blow air out, but does radiate a little heat during the dry cycle.

My house HVAC bill def went down, and the house isnt sucking in pollen during laundry days as well. There's just so many benefits to this machine, its hard to put them on paper. Also the dam thing doesnt mold, it dries itself.

I have this unit and honestly I don't love it. The clothes never comes out dry on the first attempt. I always have to run another timed drying cycle for 15 to 30 minutes to actually dry the clothes. I was hoping for a software update to fix this but if it doesn't happen soon I will be returning it.

Says no vent is needed... why would this not need a dryer exhaust vent vs stand along units?

Thanks in advance.
It uses a heat pump and a large filter. So no ventilation needed.

I bought this a few months ago for $2,600, I wish I would have been able to purchase at the introductory price of $1,900 -$1,600, but we had not closed on our house yet and didn't have anywhere to store it. This machine fit our needs perfectly. We had a small main floor closet that already had a water box and a 220. (Actually had to run a 120v to the closet for this set up) but no vent installed, and not large enough for a standard stack set up. Love it so far, would jump all over this deal if I were in the market. Washes and drys super well. The reviews that say it doesn't "fully dry" the load, haven't read the instructions. With a slight shake, the clothes are totally dry.

Actually, you didnt need to run a new 120v line. There's a 220v Y-cable splitter that gives you 2x120v normal outlets at 15amps. FYI for the future!

Your math is wrong. You still have to dry the second load. Load time is load time and it's at parity per load time.
My wife's initial issue was what most here claim, "I can't throw in the next wash load" and while that is true, this thing has actually sped up laundry overtime. By simply nott having to go swap the loads so much. I can't tell ya how many times we had a wash and dry going at the same time, then the dry load finishes(wash was already done), and we go down there to swap things an hour or two later. With this thing, when it beeps, it's done. I feel more incentive to go get my fresh, dry clothes and bring them upstairs because it was one-and-done. I do the laundry more often now as well because it's just easier, no more waiting till the dirty pile gets big and I overstuff the washer. If you only have a single load of laundry to do, this thing wins hands down, not even close. As you scale the loads, if we take for example a W=1h and D=1h, then 2 loads would be 3h vs 4h, 3 loads 4h vs 6h, 5h vs 8h and so in. All that assumes your on top of it to the minute. I'd still take this thing 99/100 times.

Waiting around is a waste of precious time, throw it in, set a timer to start, use the wrinkle free feature to keep it tumbling, go on with life. Its giving back so much time in life. Let it be for 2hrs per load, thats alot of time you can do in your life. 2 units now is so ghetto, its like watching a black and white tube TV.

People are so addicted to the wash/dry/wrinkle free over night use case, they are complaining to GE it takes "too many menu buttons" to delay a cycle. I agree, but it means they have something beautiful here.

Does this need water hookup and vent to be next to each other?

Can I still have one if the water hookup is on one wall, and the outside vent is on the opposite wall?

Reviews on Costco.com have pointed out two issues:

1. No temperature control for dryer. One reviewer even measured that the dryer always uses 157 degrees, which might be too high for synthetics.

2. No connectivity to Android devices.

Can anyone on SlickDeals please confirm or clarify these issues?

Thanks in advance.

You can set it to wash only or dry only, and can set air temp like any other dryer.
Their CS say that you can't change the air temp. It's fixed at 160 degrees, which seems pretty high for any delicate stuff.

Actually, LG has a few models already. They came out before GE. Yes, they are cheaper
