Also with Walmart+ you get free flat tire repair and free road hazard warranty when you purchase new tires with installation..
typically the longer the tread life, the harder the tire material and not as comfortable
Numbers is tough.

Has anyone price matched with discount tire?
Discount tire will pricematch. Unfortunately, the Walmart reliant version may be unique to this retailer. For example, the reliant outside of Walmart comes with 3 plies thread, 1 ply sidewall with H or T speed rating, and A traction/B temperature. These tires are poor performer. My Walmart reliant tire has 4 plies thread, 1 ply sidewall with V speed rating, and A traction/A temperature. Avoid those Walmart reliant tires with H speed rating.

If you read the reviews, people with Lexus and Benz are very happy with their reliant tires. Those are probably V rated reliant tires.

Yes to 59140, 58731

You'll also need to buy 3x 24" spoon, they're around $5 with 30% coupons. Use 58731 to brake the bead, people who left bad reviews were not using it correctly. You'll need to place the valve w/TPMS 90 deg away from breaker. Then to pull the break toward you, it needs to be seated at 15 deg angle or it ain't going to break. Never jump up and down, just push down on it and wait for it to slowly break away from bead. People who left negative reviews did not use it correctly. There are 100 different ways to break bead, it's the one job 58731 does an excellent job I can't believe of all the bad reviews. Are we allowed to post photos? I'll share you my notes. I kept a pretty good notes. Unfortunately you might not understand but it'll paint better pictures, it's notes for me.
I've used the longer and thicker HF tire levers. Thinner heat treated levers are better because you need every bit of clearance to get the first 12" of tire bead over the rim. You don't need brute force if the tire and rim are properly positioned.

I had General XP 2000. OK tires, but they failed at the thread after 7 years. The "V" rated Reliant provided surprisingly good dry grip at a super low price. I maintained tire pressure at the max 51 psi with no ill effect after one year. Many average "H" rated tires exhibited some slight sidewall deformation after one year at 44 psi.

Never had noisy new passenger tires because I static balance them to 1/8 oz.

My Sonata came with GY Fuelmax. With mostly Hwy driving and periodic rotation and pressure check, I got close to 85k miles from those tires. I'm at 2/32 now and need to replace them. I prefer low noise and comfortable ride. I am sure traction is not the best but good enough on both. I am a conservative driver in terms of speed. Affordability is not issue for either reliant or Outlast.

1) Which of the two should I prefer? For now reliant are at $70 while outlast are at $79
2) Do you think Walmart will add free installation later in the year with current discounted tire price?
3) Any alternatives if I don't wish to use Walmart installation services? Reviews are horrible

Got those 2 yrs ago for my sister's 2011 Civic -- no problems with the tires so far and I don't think you'll find anything better in the price range

I only drive her car once in a while and it drives fine -- she hasn't mentioned anything in 2 yrs

I would go for Outlast if its only $9 more

Previous years it was $20 off tire + free install at Walmart as their BF deal -- this year its $30 off tire and you pay for install so I doubt they'll add free install later

Ship the tires to your home at discounted price if that's an option -- take them to an independent shop for mount/balance/disposal if you don't want to use Walmart tire center

Call around and see how much local shops charge if you bought new tires online yourself -- not all of them will install outside tires

Discount Tire owns Tire Rack. Goodyear just bought Cooper Tire

Anyone know if you need to maintain Walmart+ to use it's tire repair and hazard benefits? Or just needed at time of purchase?
