Anyway, I think these were rated 50K miles and I've just about put that on them. I generally am, not too picky about tires. I'm in a mostly non-snow/ice environment with mix of highway and local road driving. I'd like to keep my total cost with install under $600 and closer to $450-500 unless that extra money buys me something considerably better.
My two complaints with my current tires:
1) Noise - but I think I notice this with all tires. Not sure you can really do better than what they all sound like unless you are buying really pricey ones?
2) Flats - Someone else mentioned this, and I don't know if it is just these ~$100 tires. In like 20+ years of driving I've had maybe like 2-3 flats. But, since I moved to this area (hotter weather) and have been more conscious/frugal about what I have installed I seem to average a flat a year for the past 6-7 years. These are usually like nails and other things, not blowouts, etc.
The best deals for me right now are either the:
Goodyear Reliant All-Season - $90/tire
Goodyear Assurance Outlast A/S - $120/tire
So my questions are:
1) For the price, compared to what I've been used to, is this the best value for the money I'm going to find through BF deals?
2) Is the $30 more/tire worth it for the Assurance?
3) Any better deal out there I should be considering?
I have both Sams and Costco memberships. Sams doesn't really seem like a better deal than WM and Cosco tires are close to 2x the price. I'm sure that some of those are better quality, but I made my 50K on $80 tires...how much is just marketing?

Current price is $124, not $90 (good price). I would rather have the ultra quiet $65 Kumho Solus TA11 (75K rated) at Discount tire. Note the 1 cm smaller in tire width is irrelevant unless you push the car to 95% limit. TA11 has the best ride quality and lowest noise on my Corolla.
The construction of the "V" rated Reliant is just as good as the Assurance. Avoid the flimsy "H" rated Reliant. The Reliant has 1/32" less thread depth, so the effective useable life is reduced by approximately 9300 miles. Fresh rubber around 60K miles is better than old rubber at 80K miles.
Properly balanced Reliant tires should not generate excessive noise in dry weather, according to my professional sound pressure level meter. There are plenty of users who commented that these tires are quiet. I doubt that these people are deaf.

I looked at the Kumho Solus TA11 you mention and for the size I need, Discount Tire has them at $140. I think I can get them for the same price as the Hanook's elsewhere , but I think I'll stick with the Hankooks.
I don't have them installed yet - going in next week.
