I would never buy a Vizio Sound bar again. Nonstop issues, audio cuts out. Need to restart both TV and sound bar. Turn on TV, sound bar not detected etc. I have a Sony TV, maybe it is just incompatible.
Good deal. I bought this soundbar couple of years back at costco.
Few issues you need to aware of sound cuts off intermittently for a second or so.
Need to restart the TV to make sure there isnt lag in audio and video
Compatibility issues with some TV's
So buyers be aware
For current owners who are having issues, here is a link to the newest firmware. Check your specific unit to see what its current firmware is and update as needed.

If this is old stock, I would be very weary. Just like others, I purchased this from Costco a few years ago when they just came out for either 200 or 250. I had to return two of them. Both displayed the same behavior. They would randomly turn off until one day they won't turn on at all. They are excellent when they are working. If this is the revision and are stable, this is a no brainer, frontpage deal.

I have a different Vizio sound bar and was battling the sound cut outs for almost two years, and I finally found a solution.

They were happening when using eARC from my Samsung TV. Sound from the HDMI-in port of the sound bar didn't have the problem. But the sound bar is HDMI 2.0 and I want 4K 120hz for consoles.

So I was able to get an HDMI 2.1 audio extractor which output the full video signal to the TV, and just the audio to the sound bar. The sound bar still has issues starting up once in a while and requires an unplug and replug. But while using it, it's been issue free for several hours straight.

Vizio soundbars sound decent enough, but connection issues run rampant. I've had two soundbar surround systems from them, and I'll never get another. One was Atmos, one not. Both would need reconnecting from time to time. Sometimes it won't turn on with the TV. Sometimes it does, but the TV (LG C2) will be using its own speakers and not recognize the soundbar, so I've had to unplug the bar and plug it back in to get it to work again. Sometimes when I start a show or movie up, the audio won't kick in for about 5 seconds. Two of my friends (that I know of) also have Vizio systems and they have the same problems, or the bar will no longer accept input from either its own remote nor the TV remote that used to have no problems controlling the volume. So, just beware. Even if it's good for a while, you still may be replacing it after not too long. The remote issue happened to my friend after owning it for about a year.

I purchased this soundbar two years ago during a Black Friday sale at Sam's Club.

In regards to the audio cutting out, there has been many firmware updates to this unit. However many do not know about it since you have to manually update it using a USB stick. The audio on mine was also cutting out due to interference with my 5ghz WiFi channel strangely. However, I picked a channel that wasn't in use and it resolved my issues.

Also, my audio was cutting out using a Fire Stick 4k Max Gen 1. However after upgrading to the new Gen 2 4k Max, all my issues have been resolved.

I recommend this soundbar while others may not due to the issues. For what you pay, you get an incredible sounding system.

Their warranty is good. Bought a reconditioned vizio set on ebay and was good until it would not produce any audio. Filled their claim form and to my surprise they sent me another one and sent the old one in the box they sent.

Similar experience with my vizio 5.1.4 and Samsung S95b. Drove me nuts for about a year. My workaround is that I turned off earc in the expert settings, and all is well. Still getting Atmos and no longer have audio cut outs, etc.

Bought from Costco and it's worked fine for me. I have a $15 optical cable out of my Samsung TV to the soundbar. No issues.

I have a old version of the Vizio atmos soundbar like several years old. Lots of issues with audio cut outs, TV not detecting soundbar on startup etc. When working it sounds good. Rather than pay hundreds for a new one i just live with it. usually turning off either the soundbar or the tv and back on will cause them to reconnect. maybe theres some magic combination of settings (countless complications between all the TV settings and the soundbar itself) that will fix it but i havent found it. they stopped updating the fw for my model yrs ago which is total bs. Sometimes I consider just using optical out and downgrading to nice stereo as I bet that would work hassle free.

I bought one from Costco in 2021 and have been looking for another. Decent deal, there are mild issues, but it's a deal for $199. IMHO.

Interesting that most here say they have issues with this with audio cutting off etc. i have this for 3years now and is flawless! I have this connected to my Apple Tv 4k.

Not the best system in terms of quality but for the price, it's very worth it!

The issue with that is regular ARC lacks a lot of bandwidth, so yes you have Atmos. But it's really not letting your expensive system stretch its legs. It is only a little better than just the SPDIF out of the TV to the sound bar.
