can't speak for nationwide or outside of the country but i've noticed used chair prices coming down. you can definitely find aeron remastered in my area for 400-500 which is considerably cheaper than retail. i'd say these chairs are fairly hard to put wear on so to me buying new isn't slick.

In my area at least, if they have multiple and know what they are doing, you will often find that the low price they are advertising is for a base model (e.g. lacking posturefit etc). I went expecting to get a $450 chair and ended up with a $700. Still beat $1800 though
Probably doesn't matter much now, but I recently (before this current sale) I received a quote from an official authorized reseller that was about 20% less than what HM was charging direct. It could be that they were already pricing in the then-upcoming discount, but I doubt it.

How do the people on Facebook marketplace get so many of these things? Many with tags still on them! I was thinking they must be fake but researching it seems like fakes aren't a big issue with these.

I agree. They last forever and clean up nicely. Plus there are spare parts readily available. Aerons even have a large market of non-OEM parts available, which no matter what people say are just as good.
I purchased a used Aeron for $100, cleaned it, and then it just needed a touch of paint on the ends of some of the legs to look almost new. I have another one I found in the street with a broken seat pan. I bought a new pan (non-OEM) on eBay for $120 and it is every bit as good as the brand new I have at the office.
So what's a good model for a home office, doing computer-related task work the majority of time? I like the look and features of the Embody. My current office chair is toast and have been looking to finally go with a Herman Miller.

Business liquidation - especially these days with many businesses closing their offices as their leases come due.

They are both excellent chairs, if you want to be able to kick back and relax, the Embody is probably the better choice. We have both at work and it seems most people rush to the Embody chairs but I genuinely like them both. I'll be getting the Embody because I often game after doing work things.

In the cart, Capital One Shopping found a code 0U0PLZXAAS that knocked an extra 49.00 off for me. 1494.45 with tax. It was showing at 1543.45 in the cart, I believe I was being charged the 49.00 for shipping for some reason. YMMV.

Just want to go in to make a quick comment. We were hesitant about buying an expensive chair like the embody, but in the end we decided to try it out. Now that we owned it for a few months, we think it's totally worth it. Tired of buying $300-$400 dollars chair that end in end feels like crap.

Same boat here. I've been using one at work for a few years and it's definitely a BIFL chair and worth the investment, to me at least.

I liked the remastered Arron for the forward tilt ability to keep me alert and engaged when necessary. I ruled out of Embody as it only comes with fabric, no mesh...

I've read strong criticism of the Vantum. Don't go in thinking it is a cheaper Embody or Aeron.
