Not the lowest I've seen but it's still a pretty good deal.

Well yeah, it's the corded version.
I'm not saying brushless is impossible for an AC product, but brushless motors run on DC so you'd need some sort of rectifier in order to achieve that.

For a tool like this, I'll take corded.
...you want a cordless table saw?
Pretty good joke, I appreciated it

This doesn't do dado, which may be pretty important depending on what woodworking you are getting into.

I think the dewalt 10" version would be better choice for a buy once option.

I've been watching and researching. I may just pull the trigger on the HF hurricane table saw if I can't find a deal on the dewalt. Reviews comparing it to the dewalt are very favorable. If I was a pro, I'd probably opt for dewalt, but I really haven't seen much critical about the HF one.
No dado is probably the biggest catch 22 if you want to get into woodworking. However you could still do dados by moving the fence over and rerunning the board or using a router.

I have this saw and it's been great. Make sure you use hearing protection.

This could potentially work instead of dado stacks but I have no experience. https://a.co/d/eCY8YBi

When you say HF Hurricane, do you mean this Hercules?

I have a dado stack. However, I often just run the piece of wood through several pass, which gives the same result. Get a FTG blade, build a sled.

Yes, was $299 last week or so. Think it may drop more during BF.

I am getting into woodworking, and want to get a table saw - these smaller units are reasonably priced, but is there any reason to skip this and purchase a larger unit?

Also, been looking at those sawstops. Is that worth the extra $$ or just a gimmick? Seems to me the extra $1k is worth not losing a finger.
Someone here looked up the cost of an amputation.

It's $25k. Sawstop seems legit.

I'm staying the fck away from table saws as a noob and not a woodworker.

There it is. The most dangerous piece of hardware that you can put in your garage. Circular Saw's in comparison are super safe. With the right safety measures in place, the table saw is a great tool.

I have this table saw and I highly recommend it, especially to beginners in woodworking. My first table saw was a Ryobi and the difference is night and day. I was struggling with getting accurate clean cuts and was starting to doubt my skills until I saw a deal for this and bought it. This saw has made woodworking much easier and more enjoyable.

For those who wonder about the safety, I would say that you need to exercise caution every time you use a saw, or even any tool in the workshop. If you have the money, getting a sawstop is good insurance, but you shouldn't rely on safety mechanisms to save you. Thus far, the riving knife on the table saw has been sufficient for me, and I always use the stick pusher to finish my cuts, after making sure the path is clear, my balance is maintained, etc. Woodworking is fun and fulfilling but one accident would spell the end of this hobby for me.

Just my thoughts as someone who picked up woodworking during the pandemic.

Update: I think deal is dead. At checkout, the coupon wasn't accepted.

Get the Sawstop if you want a table saw. Your fingers are worth the extra cost. Half the cuts you'll make on the table saw you'll be removing the blade guard and at some point you'll get lazy and not put it back on. Note, the saw stop only removes 1 of 2 of the big hazards of a table saw. You need to be aware of the kick-back hazard (though the riving knife has reduced that risk).

Just read an interesting (if old) document about why SawStop tech isn't available on benchtop saws: guy who owns the patents wouldn't lease the tech without at least an 8% royalty, which would basically price them out of their own market when you factor in the additional manufacturing and redesign costs, plus retail markup. He also edited his patent during review to apply to ANY blade retraction method because the Power Tool Institute was developing their own version and he didn't want competition. Real jerk move, since he just changed a sentence in the patent application to give himself a monopoly over any form of that technology.
