This can be used and "applied" towards existing gamepass users, can at least confirm works for pc gamepass. does require following directions so if you are not good at this.....THIS IS NOT FOR YOU.
you have to get the gamepass core codes from the website, steps:
*check if you have ultimate, if you do, you get like 45 days instead of 60 so not as good of a deal if you already have ulimate gamepass. If you don't have it, go to the next step.
If you do have ultimate, THEN WERE TALKING ABOUT SITUATIONS where it may be better to wait for it to expire*
test with one of the GPCore (game pass core) keys to make sure your xbox account (through like the website "redeem codes xbox" in your favorite search engine) works.
buy as many as you want, up to 3 years (what the people say) can stack (so 12 keys)
*buy a key for Game Pass Ultimate, or use trial good call OP*

I followed these exact steps last night and others posted in comments (some clearer than others) that these steps are the best value overall....just use the code CoreUS and you save another 70 cents per key. I would guess this key is bust....but whatever...just copied this from last time it posted.
