I mean you're still getting a two year warranty, and this is not a too-good-to-be-true kind of price either. But all things considered I think this is a great deal as long as you don't need a literal *lap*top

If 3d graphics isn't your types of games, sure

I suggest buying the Asus x13 with RTX 3050 for $900 if you're looking for thin and light

For more power with weight, get something with RTX 3060

Doesn't look difficult to upgrade the SSD either.

Question for all the cool kids. I have m a surface through my job. I'm transitioning relatively soon (May) and we'll have to turn them in. The lady and I really enjoy the surface for traveling. Is this one overkill? I know sometimes I see them a bit cheaper. All we need it for is streaming on Southwest flights and the interwebs. Thank you and happy Caturday!

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

So this is currently $999 at Best Buy and it comes with the keyboard (QJW-0001 model, MSRP $139.99).

This deal is without the keyboard.
if you add the keyboard on sale ($118) to this deal, you're saving around $80 for a refurbished Surface Pro.

Do you like the big screen? If not, the fire tablets might be a really good option for traveling. The surface pro nine and galaxy tab s7 plus when traveling. The surface is great for doing actual work and it's better than carrying around a laptop. The Samsung tablet is great for watching media with great battery life.

Excellent point.

Of thing to note is that the BestBuy listing doesn't say whether it's the old (can't hold the Surface Pen 2) or the new (can hold the Surface Pen 2) keyboard.

I would normally expect this to be $999 new, including a keyboard and a Surface Pen 2, by Black Friday. The only reason that may not happen this year is that there was no Surface Pro 10 release in October. (May come in the spring?)

Still, this is an 12th gen CPU. Laptops with 14th gen CPUs are hitting the shelves in a couple months. Even 13th gen laptops have been on sale for a couple months now.

Some rumors point to a major 10th anniversary redesign for the Surface Pro 10. It may skip 13th gen CPUs altogether and the SP10 may be released early next year with a 14th gen CPU. This is, of course pure speculation. BestBuy is selling this thing new including a keyboard for $999 now.

The surfaces is a sweet spot for size for us and it fits well even in my small daypack I fly with. So we want something similarly sized with a keyboard.

Man, they're really cutting corners. They're not even including the keyboard with laptops anymore! That's an additional surcharge.

For the Surface line, since generally most recent Surface keyboards work with newer models, and you're upgrading from an older one, this saves you the need for a new keyboard.

Unless you don't already have an outdated, unrepairable Surface machine -- and let's face it, keyboards get nasty after 2-3 years of daily use -- so don't tell me you're going to reuse them all that often.

It's an added surcharge, plain and simple.

Fair due to thermal throttling limiting cpu performance and no nvidia gpu.

Ideal?
