A dual core (2 thread) with a max boost of 2.6ghz from 2017 and a sata drive?

Yeah, that's not going to do much of anything.

If the Wikipedia Quick Sync Video table is right, it looks like this does have hardware encode / decode support for HEVC up to 10 bit.

While it's probably not a blazing fast processor by any means, it does have some decent video decode hardware. I suspect the HDMI ports won't do 4K HDR, though.

Are those generic beelink n100 devices the best bet if I want something to use in conjunction with a synology NAS for Plex ?

Even if you want a simple server, you are better off getting a n5095, n95, n100

Might be good for Home Assistant, about $50 cheaper than an equivalent N100 NUC.

N100 is signifiacantly more powerful and newer.

I just found a dual LAN N100 deal for $110 and jumped on it. Could use it as a router, strong enough for Windows, much more versatile. Been pricing similar things out for a while and don't think I'll see a better price for a dual LAN N100. https://www.amazon.com/GMKtec-Min...th=1&psc=1

Save your money and get the N95 it has the exact same QSV decode performance as N100. The answer is yes its a 12th gen it will not only hardware transcode older formats, HEVC, but also AV1 (if you need it) to 4k 10 bit. For the money it will also blow away a RPi and when you start to put one together and get through the markups it's likely cheaper.

If you are ONLY doing HA maybe but for a few more shekels you get a N95 which can run multiple workloads and has modern 12th gen HW transcoding. I've even ran windows VM on these machines along w/ containers -- they are pretty powerful for short money.

Also I hate to say it but ACE runs out of some cell phone store in Brooklyn, so you aren't going to get top notch support so YMMV. Just that alone I will never buy any ACE products, if they are going to have a US presence maybe rent a legit location.

But when you put it up against a new Raspberry PI it is a relative bargain. Also a good machine for your TV instead of a dongle that will get outdated in a year or two.

believe this one is much better and stronger than Raspberry pi unless you need GIPO pins
