Why is this a great deal when the 5300 was just on sale for $250?

Because this is superior to that model.

I read the comparison. Basically it comes down to the presets - if you deeply care about the 5 preset buttons then go for the 750. The motor on the 750 might be a bit quieter and cooler but no concrete evidence.
My take - 750 is not 50% better than 5300, so 5300 at $250 is the better deal for most.

"might" is the wrong word.

The 750 absolutely is quieter and has better cooling... but yeah for most people I would say The 5300 at $250 is still a better deal. But the 5300 at $250 is exceedingly rare.

The quality build and pre-sets are what makes the 750 pro stand out. However, you got the better deal / bargain w/ the 5300 (IMHO). I'm beginning to consider replacing my old vitamix (25+ years) and am strongly learning towards the pro 750 but I might have jumped on the $250 5300 if I was aware of it. In the end, they are all great machines that do the same thing!! Enjoy your Vitamix!!

My only gripes about the 750 is the variable knob shape would be better if they used the 7500 instead. The killswitch location could be improved too.

To bad QVC doesn't have any of the Lemon color. They still have the periwinkle though.

Had this for a few years. I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I wish it was quieter for the cost. It does the job though.

That's a great price, I would get this if the Stainless Steel jar, the food processor attachment would be compatible with the PRo series but is only with Ascent as website states. Someone correct me if this is incorrect, thank you. Costco has the Ascent for Blackfriday on their add $499 with food processor attachment. I have Ninja kitchen and would like to upgrade to Vitamix
