Great deal for a sub $300 for home use.

The display is good enough for indoor at 250 nits, 1080p IPS True Colors. Other Lenovo laptops use horrible TN to hit this price. I use a 250 nit Gateway/Dell with no issues indoors.
The Intel 12th Gen i3 pairs great with another 8GB ram ($15). The 12th Gen 6-core is big improvement from 8th/10th Gen 4-core.
Wifi 6 has the strong Intel 2x2. Other laptops use weaker 1x1.
Charging uses the more reliable power port. It doesn't appear to use USB-C charging.

You can't expect highest spec parts for $250, but this dell use quality name brand parts.
If you do lots of work outdoors and travel alot, look for 400-500 nit, go for Latitude 5000/7000 series/Thinkpad L13, expect to spend $250(refurb) to $600(new)

Buy these x86 windows laptop with extra RAM slots, its going to be less available once ARM X on Windows goes mainstream in 1-3 years. Probably be the last x86 laptop that your ever need.

how can it be crappy when its a IPS 1080p 120hz display?

The 250 nit is usable indoors

This laptop may also include space for a 2.5" SATA SSD HD with caddy and cable for extra expansion.

VA panels has good black level, colors duller, ok viewing angle, zero light bleed

Light years better than headache TN
It's a WVA panel, not VA. For some reason there isn't a lot of info regarding WVA technology on the web, but I did find some good info from Lenovo;
Quote :
What is an WVA Display?
WVA displays are highly popular for their eye-catching color and wide viewing angles.
Quote :
WVA vs. TN displays: What's the difference?
WVA and TN are different kinds of TFT LCDs (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Displays).
More info here [lenovo.com], and it's the same for Dell. In short, WVA are better than TN but subpar compared to VA and IPS.

1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (DisplayPort 1.4)

Would anyone know if this means the port also outputs power?

Can I use my portable monitor with JUST the usb c cable? (provide power and video thru the port)

This seems like a pretty decent deal. Is there anything that should be a red flag other than 8gb of ram which seems upgradable if needed?

when you add it to the cart and click the green Next Step button, you'll get a Spin the Wheel popup as you scroll down and there I was able to spin and I got 7% off. I then removed the item, closed the browser, went back to the link and got to add the item and spin again.

I did this a few times before I got 10% off.

Curious what benefit the 120 hz screen refeesh offers, given the poor gaming performace of the Intel integrated graphics. Anything else (general media and office computing) is good enough at 75, or even 60 hz... I'd get this if it could run Fortnite for my kid at 60-75 fps at 1080, but it would likely struggle.

The Intel 12th Gen Iris Xe can run older games at 120fps. this is not really a gaming ultrabook

Most eSports gaming ultrabook with AMD 750M iGPU or Nvidia 3050 dGPU start at $300-650.
Microcenter the $300 Gateway in person, for home use. Best Buy has $450

There also some decent Dell refurb dGPU for $300 4gb dram to $500 8gb dram

Right on. Didn't know Xe isn't as limited as you make it sound. I guess my kid only plays Fortnite, so that's my only benchmark. Been reading that integrated intel graphics got broken about a year ago with a driver update specifically for Fortnite. Thanks for the pointers to the other sales, saw some of them - still waiting for Thanksgiving / Black Friday sales.

Is anyone else having trouble applying coupons? I'm unable to apply either the coupon listed here or the one in my email. It keeps asking me to enter an OTP and sign in (even though I'm already signed in). Once I do that, it just takes me back to the dell home page. After I go back to my cart from there the coupon is not applied. This happened to me 2 days ago and is still happening now.

I only see $120 off $600, not the smaller offer ...

I had the same issue, so I just skipped the ARMMPS coupon and paid $5 more. Got it delivered yesterday.

There is no USB-C port on the base model. See pics on product page for proof if needed.

If you don't mind, does it run pretty cool? Also are the speakers pretty decent? I am thinking of placing an order.

I haven't powered it on yet, sorry, but it should run cool since it's the lowest tier CPU available for this model.
