Unfortunately, it seems that if it's under $400, no backlit keyboard. That's often the case with ones above $400, too. The op did a good job by actually mentioning this; most deal posts don't. I won't buy without backlit, either.

Original post says it's $340+tax and free shipping. However, with both promo codes mentioned, the lowest I can get it down to is $370.43+tax and free shipping.

How did you get one for $370 out the door? I entered in both promo codes and it's like $370+tax with a final price of $397. Did Dell bump up the price?

Its bc this generation uses its Phones and TVs more than it uses their Computer PCs. Most of them hate PCs (towers with keyboards) and just use laptops when forced to. I mean, your phone is a real option for almost everything these days. Or a tablet. Even when tablets (like an iPad has a keyboard option), they don't use it. Live on the couch.

Last generation pretty much used Computer PCs the most and still might use most their media on it. Live at a desk.

Prior to that the Elders obv just used TVs. And they took "typing classes" if they needed to type lol. Live on the couch.

So you have 2 generations (much older and much younger) which aren't the best with touch keyboards. Meanwhile the Gen X/Gen Y cusp are basically the gods of touch-type.
Gen Xer here... I did indeed learn to touch type back 8n middle school back in the mid 80s, back in the Apple ][, TRS-80 and Commodore 64/128 days. Right before I got my first computer (TRS-80 Model 1), I was using a portable manual typewriter. I was so glad to use word processing so I could easily fix my typos!

Having said that... I still need my Windows laptop, can't do everything on a phone.

You will not be qualified by Amex for $120 off as price after all other discounts is $573.29 and not $599 before taxes!!

Possible to add another SSD in this laptop?
Just received mine today, opened it up and was pleasantly surprised to find caddy, cable and screws for a 2.5" drive.

Wow, $370 and it doesn't even have a NIC port? Is that typical for laptops today to not have a NIC port? Does it come with a USB to ethernet adapter? Are there any downsides to using an ethernet adapter?
