Short answer is yes. Could write a thousand words of opinion but the low-mid tier is the best starting point for price/quality/value for 90% of people. The U7 is the best in that category. TCL comes close but has fallen off the last few years. You're basically getting quality that would be much more expensive from Sony, Samsung, etc. at the expense of less marketing and possibly shakier quality control.
If you have less, spend less on whatever ultra cheap deals come out for Black Friday. It will still be great since TV tech has gotten so cheap lately.
If you have more discerning taste, this is a nice TV but might not have the extreme wow factor of some others. Anything more expensive is arguably a *worse* value since you pay a big premium for dimishing returns in slightly better features, but that's capitalism baby!
Also how far away are you sitting from it?
RTings has the formal measurements-- but the viewing angles have surpassed my needs. Every spot in the room where i would sit is good.

The TV is excellent and have loved it so far. Absolutely no complaints. Goes toe to toe with the big guns for half the price.
Placed in the living room with lots of daylight and brightness/clarity/color accuracy has not been an issue.
