Had the tv since Monday. It's amazing! Neighbor just got the 75 u8k and I gotta say I wish this unit the u7k had a "shinier" panel coating like the 8. It just makes the 8 look more high end, Oled like. But for $400 cheaper I'm super happy with my purchase.
So your saying the 75" U7K has a more matte or at least less shiny panel coating than the 75" U8K? So reflections and glare are handled pretty well on your U7K? How are the viewing angles on it? I'm not 100% sure if the 75" U7K has the same ADS PRO panel as the 75" U8K or not as there's been some debate on the subject. I am so close to pulling the trigger on this, lol.

Any chance these come back in stock for later this week?
Not available in my zip. Also qualifies for multiple buy discount. We can get another cheap TV and get $100 discount. There are lot of them between $200 - $300 price range. Hopefully they will bring more in stock by BF.

Yes. More matte. I have mine mounted in my basement that has approx 20 wafer disc lights. It handles reflections pretty well. The brightness more then helps with it.

Not sure if the panel is the Ads pro, but it definitely looks great. Like I said earlier, I had a Samsung s95b (Qd Oled) and honestly it looks just as good. I prefer the shinier look of the u8k cause to me it makes the actual cosmetics look more premium. Picture wise though I'm 100% confident in recommending you buy this tv.

Viewing angles are fine. Mind you I have a couch directly in front and one to the side. Viewing is fine from the couch on the side.

Samy is twice the price. Which is another cheap TV to get using $100 buy 2 items promo from costco? Hisense is not available in my zip code. Hopefully, they are going to get more soon.

Can someone just tap their screen to see if it flickers to confirm this is a VA Panel or an IPS panel.

I've been to Best Buy and can confirm the 75" U8K is a IPS / ADS pro with the tap test. I can confirm the 75" U6K is a IPS with the tap test. And I can confirm the 65" U7K is def an VA panel with a simple tap the screen area around where I tap flickers white.

There is no 75" U7K anywhere near me, at Best Buy or Costco. There is still no 100% confirmation that this is a IPS panel which I need for good viewing angles in the living room. There are multiple people on forums that swear this is a VA panel and others that swear its an IPS. All United States models.

ashpat, are you talking about the actual TV screen or the frame/case that the screen is contained within? It sounds like there are two different things being discussed.

Also - U75 Costco = U7 (everyone else).

Crap I was literally just at Best Buy (a little further away then the close one) just to check out the 75" U7K in the flesh. It didn't even dawn on me to do the knock test - and the 75" U7K was mounted super low at this store so no issue there. The content they had playing on it wasn't great but it did look good. The viewing angles looked really good to me so I'm pretty sure it as an ADS (PRO)? panel.

Hopefully someone else can do the knock test sometime as I'm not sure I'll get out to that particular Best Buy anytime soon but if I do I'll give it a knockSmilie

I actually went over to a different Best Buy today and they had a 75" U7K on display and the tv was actually turned on (usually they are off). It was playing some crappy non 4K loop but it still looked pretty good. Not sure if I'm going to make the leap yet or not. I kind of want to wait and see what improvements Hisense is going to make to their '24 model lineup as CES is right around the corner.

For now I have my eyes on 75" versions of the Hisense U7K and U8K as well as the Sony X90L. I know these have different price points and the U7K seems to offer the most bang for the buck but I've seen the 75" Sony X90L a few times at BestBuy and it looks great to me and it's not even mini led but it's also $1499 compared to $899 for the U7K.

I'm talking about the actual screen. Looks like the u8k has a more anti reflective (looks shinier) coating on the screens surface.

The u7k 75 is definitely IPS but not sure if ADS ips or just ips. Definitely not VA though.

Models in store are on some demo mode that really doesn't color shift off axis. I was looking at the 75" TLC Q7. It had an amazing picture. Off axis it looked great. Tapped the screen, it was a VA panel. Checked Rtings.com reviews and it said bad off angle viewing. So not sure what to think.

Below is a reply in the comment section at Rtings from someone who works and test the tvs at Rtings

Hi! So far we haven't had official confirmation from Hisense regarding the exact panel type in the 75" model. Answers from manufacturers on retailers can be hit or miss; unfortunately it's often the manufacturer's PR team handling those, and not the tech team, and mistakes sometimes slip by. We've had users in the forums swearing that they purchased the 75" model and that it is actually a VA panel, and unlike with the U8K Hisense hasn't reached out to us personally to confirm the panel in the TV. We're still on the lookout for more information, so we appreciate the input

Would you mind tapping the screen to see if it flickers. Two of my tvs in my house have poor viewing angles and when I tap them they flicker confirming they are VA. The Hisense 55" R7G has amazing viewing angles and when I tap on it no flickering.

Seems to be a pretty good test to confirm.
