Anything good for music on a 20x20 room with 30 people? Or should stick to PA style speakers?
These are home use stuff. 20x20 is not exactly big either (assumed 20x20x20). If you want club like experience, you prob want arrays like Pioneer XY series. You have to plan out the power arrangements and cost will be at a significant different level. For casual, none abusive, music, these will def do.

Wife stopped me the last time they were available on sale and now they dropped them. I don't think I can justify SVS new pricing now that she gave me the go ahead on subs.

SVS is still one of the best values in subs.
But yes not quite as good a value as they used to be.
I think The only company beating them on value everyday is RSL

If you want the best sub deals watch for sales on Polk and JBL.
