Any thoughts on this my wife's 4 year old iPhone 11 is on its last leg , we have Cricket family plans so no free or subsidized i Phones

if you want to wait 60 days for it to unlock, sure. if it's just the battery, i would have apple replace it.

thanks for the info I also noticed you have to transfer your number over so that's a no-go for my Cricket family plan

I think changing cricket might be the move. There plenty of cheaper plans out there with more incentives.

Unlikely you'll find an overall better value plan than cricket. 5 lines everything unlimited for 125 but cheaper if you pay via discounted service refills. Sure you get more of this or that. But overall, best value.

It's easy to activate a temporary sim (H2Owireless paygo plan at $11 / Tello custom plan at $5 / Ting 1 month sim at $10 etc.) and transfer THAT number to qualify for the promotion, if you don't want to impact your current plan.

Some of us don't need the latest and greatest and don't want to spend $800 to $1000 on a new phone. or don't want to get in some kind of contract or subsidized by higher monthly fees.
