I have been researching sewing and embroidery machines because I want one. From my research, this is a good model. The max embroidery size is 4x4. The SE700 and SE725 are replacing this model. I don't think this model connects to WiFi (internet). The new machine has it. For the price, this is a good deal.

Thanks. I've been watching prices since covid and I agree this is probably one of the better deals in terms of price. The wifi connection is basically used to transfer files or does it serve other purposes.

Also, since this will likely be a gift, should I get one with a bigger hoop?

Wifi is for transfer and probably updates. If it is like my other brother machine, you can also do updates via usb. It is a handy feature when using the computer or a device without usb. If this is a gift, it depends on what the person wants and needs from an embroidery machine.
