V8 vs V10 at these prices? Also which is better for aftermarket batteries/mods?

Mostly for hardwood floors, just have 2 medium size rugs and 1 stair runner. Or is the V8 origin enough?

Anyone know how quiet these things are? Right now the quietest one I have is a honeywell tower fan, and its great but all of the cheap plastics makes it rattle.

You won't notice a major difference between any of the cordless units for bare floors. Just a difference in run time, but even the lowest setting should be plenty on any of them. Obviously higher models have more suction and run time, but you only need that for carpets. In your case I would say stick to the V8. If you have no Dyson currently, the V10 is the best bang for buck
